Stick a Fork in California

It's done. California is dead. I see on social media the dumbest people I know are passionately attacking people who express disappointment in the failure to recall the Gov. The place is a cesspool. They've taken one of the most beautiful places in the world and turned it into a collectivist, feces-polluted mess. Now, finally, my wife is talking of leaving. We have our place in Nevada which I love. But, we're really looking at Arizona, Florida and the Carolinas. Any input appreciated. I even said I'd consider the place where my dad's side came from - Oklahoma. It's a quiet place with a simpler life, and centrally located for my consulting work.

I'm going to have to clean up some real estate and sell it and I plan to have that done by next summer. The only relative with my last name who will remain in California is the guy who smokes tons of weed and doesn't work. That's fitting...

My advice to anyone relocating to escape the coming communist crash is to find a piece of land with fertile ground and clean water. Not close to a big city. Good luck.

In the end, the commies will come to loot all, but you may be able to escape for a while.

Abaco, in addition to annual hurricanes be prepared for
    - extremely high humidity and 90F+ every day for months.
    - Horseflies and biting gnats make the beach a place to avoid.
    - Ugly grey water as far as you can see.
    - Miles of overpriced highrise condos marring the landscape.
    - the annual onslaught of drunk morons for Spring Break.
    - sitting in bad traffic trying to get anywhere

I lived in Pensacola for 2 years before I was saved by hurricane damage to the house I had rented.

The snow white sand beaches there are beautiful.
In Alabama, Florida's Panama City Beach is called "The Redneck Riviera."

    Nebraska, Iowa
    Stay WEST of the Mississippi.
Honestly the best place to go on paper is Wyoming.....:but they were a little COVIDY last year. Pick a stable flyover state that ISN’T Colorado. And remember....leftists love water. In 20 years Florida will be just as bad.

I would like to see that area in the Florida panhandle and Gulf Shores. Thanks for the input.

Well, you already know that election was as rigged as the 2020 presidential election.
Saw your "doomed" comment in a thread I also started today.
You'd be welcome in Alabama. Gulf Shores is like the Florida coast but you must factor in hurricanes and there's tornadoes where I live beside Birmingham.
Next door state Georgia is getting lefty flaky especially in the Atlanta area.

Yep - it is time people voted with their feet. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley in the 50's. I remember thermal inversion and smog so thick you couldn't see across the school yard. The only good thing government did was eliminating burning trash. Pretty much solved the problem. I remember riding my horse up into the movie lots in the foot hills to watch movie westerns being filmed. Lots of memories.
But now, no way in hell would I move back to 8547 Comanche, Canoga Park. How about we give California back to Mexico?
