Not really off-topic, but close. Regarding Afganistan, if this is how our government plans to handle foreign policy, the rest of the world will be rooting for Covid...
The "news" media are dead silent about what is happening right this minute in Kabul, Afghanistan. Did you know that:
the State Department has issued a notice that the only way to get out on a flight is to fill out an online form?
No one is to call the embassy. They left, taking the flag with them, officially closing The USA presence in that country just this afternoon?

Hundreds of Afghani are frantically looking to escape after 20 years working with Americans. see notice above...

The city of Kabul is now in Taliban hands and live fire is happening at the only airport. note-Bagram Air Base was abandonded by White House orders and is now occupied by the Taliban.

The State Department has issued a suggestion for those who are trapped in-country, to whit, HIDE.

    I remember those days, and the protests. They had the right to protest, but they were the first visible seed of the weed jungle to come. One source has word that the Taliban is already dragging families out and murdering them in the streets. Two Marines at the airport saw someone exit a helicopter carrying a very badly folded American flag from the embassy. This could be a bloodbath by tomorrow morning.

        Yes they do. The media is totally focused on Covid to keep this country from exploding, at least the remaining part of the country that can still think. Not one congressman or woman is speaking out. Or is it being squelched? I know I'm paranoid, but am I paranoid enough?

Pardon my wet blanket, but it seems to echo Mr. Thompson's frantic plea to John Galt. Find him, but don't tell them we don't have him. I can only hope the sheeple understand this horrendous situation before it goes beyond saving, if not already beyond that point.

    Oh Carl, I hope so. I'm getting too old to be in a firefight for very long. My arms get tired all too easily these days. Those silent marchers with the sickening signs should have awakened more than a few sheeple.
