    I will be a panelist at an event at my university in mid-February that I will share once I get the Zoom site for it. I am going to explain why a contrarian view is necessary for innovation and invention.

    I plan on quoting Rand's line about inventors:

    “I was an inventor. I was one of a profession that came last in human history and will be first to vanish on the way back to the sub-human?”

    I could use Rand's other quote:

    “An inventor is a man who asks 'Why?' of the universe and lets nothing stand between the answer and his mind.”

        All of this is why I had Emmett "Doc" Brown playing in the background as I worked yesterday. Back to the Future is comedic inspiration for inventors like me.

        I'm working on that talk. I just got slides coordinated with several faculty from other universities for a conference on the 4th and 5th called the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network tonight. For that I plan to debut my first prototype for my new company. Between then and the 13th, we expect to have 10 prototypes. Then we'll debut the UV LED disinfection prototypes at a festival for several thousand people on the 13th. The event you are asking about is on Thursday the 18th at 5:30, I think.

    First I've seen this.

    I don't put much value on making statements on the internet like "I'm John Galt". People aren't going to read that on the internet and go, "Oh, I see the light and will change my ways." I'm more in line with going Galt, withdrawing.
