Taxation without representation

More than ever do I feel that this fedgov offers NOTHING of value to me. It's actions and words are opposite the Constitution, they are not acting to fulfill there oaths of office to any degree and in many cases are openly working to negate or remove the very blueprint which defines the basis for who we are apart from other nations.

I am not remotely a lawyer. I recall a town/county adjacent to DC where their license plates espoused 'taxation without representation' because they historically pay no taxes as they never felt represented.
Can I legally declare that I will no longer pay taxes because the fedgov offers no value? It literally doesn't represent me, my thoughts, my beliefs, my individualism or even attempt to? In fact, I can make a strong case that the fedgov is trying to tear this country down and me with it.
My becoming exempt should be something these leftists applaud as it would hasten the demise of the entity they are trying to gut and kill.

Can anyone here comment on the legality of such an approach?

My daughter in law questioned me on paying school taxes when kids weren't allowed to go to school! I had no answer.

Neither do the schools! They vaguely point to buildings and mumble about "maintenance" and "future occupation," but if you think property taxes are going away.....yeah, no.

But, I wish they would. I know the general justification for paying property taxes, even for people without children, is to "educate our young people because they will be of value to us in the future," but considering 1) the quality of "education" they are getting, and 2) the observed lack of interest by so many of the kids...I think we are pouring our money down a rat hole. But then again, we were before, too.

        While I agree with you...

        WE ARE TO BLAME.

Did you join the Teachers Board? Did you volunteer YOUR time and YOUR energy to keep what you had? NO!

We just ASSUMED the good intentions of people while we let our communities be taken over by outright communists at EVERY LEVEL.
Just the number of "incidents" at grade schools with teachers and other people we find out NEVER passed a real background test.
Or how the pervert teachers were (and are) protected by unions.

Of course, if we had ANY true form of Media, we would have seen what was transpiring in front of us, and done something. But we were BUSY
living life, earning money, paying taxes, and getting our Bread and Circus shows to distract us. Never realizing...

        Now we see it.

        Are we organizing?
Are we finding neighbors who agree?
Are we helping others stand up to the Woke Crowds?
Are we DOING WHAT MATTERS today?

Or are we simply online, B*tching about how bad things have gotten (myself included)...

It isn't just a matter of constantly being involved. If the ruling class is constantly searching for a method to abrogate their contract (which it always does) and rewrite it benefiting themselves rather than those they rule it will always be accomplished whether you are involved or not.
Trying to correct the course of a tyranny simply consumes your time and effort without results. The only method is to dismantle the tyranny.

Well, sorry to bust your bubble, CaptainKirk, but I have ALWAYS volunteered for whatever school district I was living in, so it's okay to skip the all-caps accusation. I also worked in paid positions for the school district for maybe ten years. Working in and volunteering for a school are two of the best ways to find out what's going on in the administration.

And yet, shortly the school districts will clammor that they need more funds because they are underpaid. Considering the caliber of citizens voting away thier own freedoms, and ours,, we deserve a refund.

I'd love it if we could refuse to pay taxes to the Feds. I fear that a far larger conflict is brewing, however. The Left WANTS to initiate war. It WANTS death, destruction, tyranny, etc., because all of these things disrupt life and our quest for purpose. I only hope that when the time comes, it will be left that literally destroys itself in the conflict of their own making while the rest of us stand to the side, popcorn in hand.

It is possible to 'leave the system' (which ends your liability for taxes and ends any potential ss benefits on retirement) but no employer will accept you for employment without a ss number.
(Employers can hire illegal aliens easier than freed People.)
No lender with make a loan to you.
No credit card company will give you a card.
No bank will open an account.
You will find it difficult to get any kind of loan from any business.
You may find businesses that will trade with you, but you may have to provide proof of your existence repeatedly using other means.
It may be difficult to get a license to drive - although to don't actually need one.
It may be very difficult to get insurance for your car.
    It's possible, but not practical.
I know someone who is not 'in the system' but he has relatives and close friends that assist him.
The system is designed to make it a hardship to get and keep your freedoms.
I suspect that if enough people started to leave the system, the feds would make it even worse.

    I agree with you, btw.
The feds have been meddling looters with no redeeming features for decades, imo.

Interesting response...makes me think. Makes me think it wouldn't be a big adjustment for me. I've been without debt for a long time. Am about to quit my job this year. I think driving without a license would be complicated if a cop pulls you over.

When I read the original question I also can't help but think - They have the guns and they want your money. I don't think "representation" was ever a serious consideration - just lip service. It's about as important and relevant as student government in 7th grade...only armed.

Your remark reminded me of an observation my young son once made. We were at a state park and I was asking about some of the trails. It is a place where when I was young I roamed freely over the landscape and now it has many rules about where you can walk and what you can touch while getting to the desired destination.
The ranger informed me that we could get to the cliff where we wanted to go rappelling but he had to follow a certain path, then we would be allowed to break off at a certain point and as long as we didn't touch the ground and hopped from rock to rock we were allowed to access the cliff.
As we walked away my 12 year old son asked me if I had ever played the game as a child where you had to hop from rock to rock and not touch the ground to get to a location. I replied yes, I had played that game. Then he said; "The ranger has brought a new level to the game. If we missed our step the referee (ranger) was wearing a gun!"

A friend of mine extricated himself from the "System", specifically in Fed and State taxation through a process of filings under the Uniform Commercial Code......UCC 4? I watched the process a little distanced, early 2000s. I think because he already had SSN ID with other institutions that there was no problem with a lot of the activities you've mentioned. The only thing I think he may have been disbarred from would be any SSI "retirement". I talked with him a few months ago regarding. He still has documentation. He also says it is about a two year process because of the waiting time to get "responses" from the "taxing authorities". I'll inquire again and see if I can get the docs.
One thing I do remember is that a "Tax Statement" to the FED was required annually for some type of condition of agreement.

Well, not wanting to get into a Sixteenth Amendment argument, I can just say that if ever you have filed a Federal tax return, you are already in their system, and the IRS will come looking for you until they either find you, or you are dead, or you are otherwise out of their reach.

Obviously, you are looking at becoming "otherwise out of their reach." I don't blame you but I can't recommend it. Because if you fail, you will likely spend a lot of time behind bars, no matter how minor the amount of taxes you "evaded," if for no other reason than to serve as an example. I hate it, but as a CPA, I just could not/would not ever suggest that a person should do this. Actually even if I were not a CPA, my opinion would be the same....but again, I really don't blame you at all. Be sure you consider ALL the ramifications and decide whether it's "worth it" to you, (because no one else can make that determination for you.) Edit for typo.

While some of these cases can be 'won' in certain districts it is hardly worth the time because when you then wander a little further afield you will be in another jurisdiction and you will have to start fighting again.
A friend of mine told me about a man who fought the state's right to license him and his vehicle to travel and won the case. Then he was immediately pulled over for not having tags on his car and had to go to court again. After several 'wins' the local county gave up and the local constabulary were aware of him and left him alone. When he drove into another jurisdiction he had to go to court and start over. Not an efficient method.

"Ben, Someone has to go to prison." National Treasure." The gov't bureaucrats don't care whether you like them, or what they do. They will come for you for refusing to pay the taxes.

These days they will come for you if your speaking out of line, if you have a gun, if you openly disagree with their way of doing things, if you contest what they do, if you believe in the constitution, If you proud of America and its accomplishments, if you believe in the individual, if you are heterosexual and disagree with variants, if you are white, particularly if you are white male.

No, no matter what you do you will offend and they will come calling eventually. Paying into it is akin to weaving your own noose by facilitating those who will come. How do you avoid it? I'm open to ideas.

Sorry pal, if you stop paying your taxes, you are going to jail....right after the government confiscates all your assets.

As if I can do nothing and they won't come for me eventually. We no longer live in a 'live and let live' country. My doing nothing just ensures that they know where I am when the government or their appointed brown shirts come calling.

      They'll enjoy my bullpup.

It has been my painful experience that even if it were legal the government through its decree of judicial rulings allowing it to contradict its contract (the Constitution) you will not only fail you will attract unwanted attention of the governing body that then its right to search for any other deviances of behavior.
It is wiser to get out of the path of an avalanche to avoid its consequences and deal with them later when you have a reasonable chance of success.

If you DO do this, I applaud your courage! However, ( maybe this sounds weird) but if at all possible, I'd contact legal advice for this. Hopefully, the lawyer/attorney would answer your question on a 'pro bono' basis. AND hopefully, they won't be a leftist, or progressive. I'd do some checking on their background before you approach whomever you decide to go with your question to. Good luck!

Lawyers are officers of the (corrupt) court. Taking their advice would be like letting the IRS do your tax return.
I agree that careful research is imperative before taking such a step, but careful consideration of the sources of the research is also imperative.

I learned, a long time ago, when you enter a court room, the only person representing the defendant is his/her attorney. The Judge and Prosecutor are just there to score points. They aren't looking for Justice. Just their reward!
