I used to read hot rod, car craft, custom car and model magazines all the time...Still pick up a Hot Rod mag at the Barbers sometimes.

Seems like I remember reading a Hot Rod magazine and saw one of these little cars with a Hemi in the trunk......well maybe I wasn't "reading".

levee - wall to hold back flood waters.
levy - the law, as in the levy was dry.
them good old boys (who don't give a hoot about the law).

Cats and lawnmower. Probably the most accurate description of my kid playing the violin ever... ;)

Rest of those were great puns worthy of sharing! Thanks!

You could desecrate Jimi Hendrix, and mangle the lyrics on Purple Haze:

'scuse me, while I kiss this guy.

The AC/DC meme reminds me of when I bought their CD and ritually played Highway to Hell at top volume while driving to workโ€”at the state prison.

Minor nitpick: it's "levee", not "levy". "Levy" means something completely different.

The American Pie visual pun is topnotch.

"Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry."

How about: "Drove my Ford to the board, but the board was broke."

Let me guess what the title of the Crosby, Stills, and Nash record is: Ramblin' Man

I used to tell people that I did not know whether I could play the violin, because I'd never tried. Then one day I was visiting a friend who played violin, and she offered me the chance to try.

It turns out that knowing how to play the mandolin, even slightly, is a great help in playing a scale on the violin on the first try. Fretless!

Still think the little Metro was a neat little car, 'way ahead of its time.
