Avoiding Vaccine Conversations?

What is your favorite response to avoid answering about your vaccine status? I do not intend to receive the COVID-19 “vaccine,” for a variety of reasons. In a time of vaccine passports, and when I am asked about my vax status by colleagues and acquaintances on a routine basis (so far only in passing casual conversation), I would like to come up with a few responses. Preferably responses that avoid the issue, avoid publicity and controversy, avoid unnecessarily straining relationships.

I doubt our USA Government will mandate vaccination, but other countries might, and private property owners (e.g., businesses) might. That will be a deal-breaker for me. In the meantime, just for avoiding vaccine conflict in casual conversation (even direct interrogation), what are your favorite retorts?

"Yes. My first shot was called Woodford. The second one was called Maker's Mark. Didn't hurt a bit. Stay safe out there!"

In face-to-face conversation when people tell me they were vaccinated I just say, "Great! I hope it works for you." I don't say anything else. In California if you have school kids this is a 30-ton wrecking ball that's going to make impact this summer when they mandated this for school. You will probably hear of approval of one or more of the vaccines for children this week (you heard it here first). Let's just say I've been in the loop...Man, I wish I could elaborate...

Californians with school kids are pouring out of the state...all in a mad dash. I found out the reason I can't get a contractor for some remodel work is because people are hiring them up to fix up their homes to sell. I have a few places in the State and am listing the first one now. Can't dump it soon enough...

My real estate agent (we just listed our house) did tell me that she was fully vaxxed, but in her profession she has to appear to be concerned about the well being of her clients. (She IS a nice person and I am sure she is concerned, but we are talking about "official stance" here.) When she came to our house to discuss the listing, she was wearing a mask, and I told her we weren't afraid of her if she wanted to take off the face diaper. She was SO glad. *editing to add - and by some miracle - we didn't get sick!! (feigned surprise).

On Facebook I belong to several cruise groups, and all the news there is about Royal requiring a vax (as well as most if not all of the others). EVERY discussion turns into a roll call with "I'm vaxxed," very proudly like they've done something magnificent. Over, and over, and over, and over...like I care. So, I'm pretty inactive in the cruising facebook groups these days!

Yes ... getting vaxxed ... like they have done something significant. It is much like the muzzle / face diaper ... donning this thing and ambling about as though they are doing something.

The face diaper bothers me even more because it is a HUGE compliance signal. I am a rebel by nature but if I want to go into THAT store (down here in Texas, almost all of them) it's a face diaper for me.

I have a legitimate health condition which is on the exemption list. But I really like Dobrien's response!

The other one I use is this: I know of only one person - a father of a friend - who has died with COVID-19 (notice I don't say from COVID). I know of two people who have died from the vaccine (one was my wife's high school friend) and a third who almost did (sister-in-law). Given those odds, I'm not touching the "vaccines" with a ten-foot pole.

After deciding to remove face masks: “Sure, we’ve all been vaccinated, right?”

Me: “Close enough, haha.” Or: “Yes.”

Whether or not this is a lie hinges on the definition of ‘vaccine.’ I would argue that the Big Pharma vaxxes do not meet the definition of a vaccine. I would argue that UVB from the sun to maintain high VitD levels is closer to a true vaccine. Even aside from semantics, I would also argue that it is proper to lie to tyrants intent on violating my rights, if the risk/benefit analysis meets my self-interest.

This is one of my basic tenets of life. There are people who deserve a true response (people close in my life who are affected by what I do) and those who don't deserve even a second of my time nor even a modicum of truth. I can and will tell them anything, because it's literally none of their business.

Now as far as removing masks: first of all they do absolutely nothing good. I am sure most of us know that, but in case anyone isn't convinced, they can google the CDC Data Tracker to get all the stats you could ever want. And second of all, even if you have had your full vax over two weeks ago, nothing in it prevents one from getting - OR transmitting - COVID. Ultimately, if it doesn't kill you, it might make your case a little weaker, but only under the best of circumstances.

So, removing - or wearing - masks, is an exercise in silliness. I do both, depending on the circumstances of the moment, but I am still VERY ASHAMED of my fellow Texans for being such (I hate to use the word for it, but nothing else applies so well) sheep and still wearing their masks doggedly even after the state mandate went away.

I just sternly say “nope” and walk away... and that usually flabbergasts the sheep.

I am tired of pussy-footing around these leftists, I no longer care whose feelings I trample on.

I may use that one eventually. Especially if talking with a stranger (e.g., at a grocery store), or a “friend” I don’t care about. At work, though, this is an increasingly common topic of conversation, and it is helpful to me that I retain smooth working relationships. So I’m looking for a more palatable reply.

Then hit with the truth, “ It's an unnecessary medical device to take into one's body, given that the COVID survival rate is over 99% and that the natural immunity gained through natural infection is far better for my body and doesn't have the risks of triggering an immune system overreaction when a natural infection ultimately occurs.”
A lot of info in that one long sentence that will be sure to put a puzzled look on the face of any of the sheep-types.

True. But most people can’t handle the truth. My goal here is to diplomatically skirt the issue as long as possible. I don’t disagree with your answer, but it does invite debate, or at least paint me with the “troublesome” label.

I completely get what you are saying. It's far more beneficial to you to stay off the radar as a troublemaker. I wish I had a good answer to give, but I think the best answer is to "not hear the question" if you can reasonably change the subject. The only other thing I can think of (but I have a lousy imagination) is something on the line of "My doctor hasn't given me guidance on that yet." Or, "My doctor hasn't told me yet what to do about that." But that then tells the questioner that you have NOT had it. This may not be the answer you want to give.

Your best response is a non-responsive answer that doesn't answer the "have you had it" question at all. I bet someone will come along with a good one :-)

Once they complete the EXPRIMENTAL phase of all the different manufacturers trials, then I'll consider the implications of which one to understand myself.

      Agreed.

First, I want to see how the vaccinated people are 6 months or a year from now. Do they have allergies they didn't have before? Are they anaphylactic in nature, and therefore potentially life threatening? Did they develop other health issues (increased susceptibility to the flu, for example) they didn't have before? Far too many questions that can't be answered right now.

Second, I have allergies, some severe, and some are life-threatening. Yeah, it's been a small number, but too many of the fatalities that have been reported were from people who shared one or more of my allergies. So I've got (what I consider to be) legitimate health-related reasons to not get vaccinated.

If my boss presses me for an answer: “This is a private issue between me and my doctor, involving sensitive health issues I don’t want to discuss right now.”

Why to avoid this conversation may be more important than how. Many will ask each having their own motivation to know what your answer is. Even those who may be earnest in believing that they are saving the world by being subservient can be dangerous.
It isn't the police who will detain and destroy you that are the most dangerous. It is those who believe that participating in control and ensuring directed behavior that they are saving the world, they will turn you into the 'authorities' who claim the right to control you that need to be misdirected.
It is the masses that acquiesce their power to the state that gives those amoral authorities the power they crave. If the majority would simply refuse to obey they couldn't be controlled by the enslavers. In order for dictators to have power people must willingly submit.
My oldest daughter got Covid19 and had a difficult time. I was in the hospital and I got the disease from her. My experience was that it was a mild cold like disease. I take vitamin D, C and other supplements that strengthen my immune system. I do not wear a mask. I go outside and do physical work. (I am old, 72.)
There are many indicators that this disease is not to be feared, as with any disease, activity or behavior there is risk. Each individual must asses their situation and decide what tradeoff they are willing to make. If this disease were deadly then the government would have no right to make any decision for the people and what they should do. If the government acquires the power to force people at any time then it has the power to force people all of the time; and it will abuse it.
Trust no politician no matter what their rank or professed interest in you. Their claims are tricks to get your support. Their behavior will reveal their contempt for you and your right to own yourself.
My answer; "I am doing everything that will protect myself and others." I do not elaborate what that is.
Sometimes as you have discussions with others you will find some who are like you and a worthwhile conversation may ensue and the opportunity to teach or learn will occur. Don't give someone a reason to deliver you to the 'authorities'.

I have a great answer. Dont tell me what to do, and I wont tell YOU what to do. Shuts liberals up right away in my experience.

I took the vaccine, as I mistakenly thought that 94% immunity meant I didnt have to endure the mask and social distancing, none of which offers 94% immunity from infection. Unfortunately, the government is lying and making me do the mask and social distancing anyway. Pretty stupid.
If told by another person to weak a mask, I will tell them this and NOT put the mask on anyway.

For what it’s worth, many institutions are allowing people to ease the social distancing restrictions if everyone present has been vaccinated. I think this is entirely wrong-headed for many reasons (e.g., the vax doesn’t do what they think it does; the masks don’t do what they think it does; etc.). But there’s that.

Being simpleminded, If the vaccine gives me 94% immunity after two shots and 3 weeks time after second shot, and there is NO way a simple mask like people are wearing gives me anywhere close to 94% immunity, its stupid to have worn the mask once vaccinated.

        I am wrong on this?

You are correct. Masks are stupid. Whether or not you’ve had a “vaccine.”

I’m just saying some places will ease up on the restrictions. Not public places like grocery stores, but some businesses/schools.

Also, I am seeing more and more public businesses moving from the “masks required for entry” to “we wear masks and ask you to too” policy. I walk like a freeman in those businesses.

IF you pass the antibody test you shouldn't need a vaccination. Your own body does a pretty good job of defense all by itself. I will agree that some people have weakened immune systems and need help.
Agree with him or not, I still like Keven Hearts phrase, "I had the "Vid"!".

Correct you are! I had Covid in January. Plus my other 4 viruses over the years. My doctor said I should donate blood so people could be vaccinated.I don't wanna do that. My blood is very expensive why should I donate it? Only 15% of the population of the world have my blood type.

I am flying from Texas to Massachusetts on the 30th and have been told that I need a vaccine at least 14 days prior or a COVID test no more than 72 hours prior. I have asked them how this helps me.
If I get the test then I am providing protection for others against me carrying the virus onto the plane. But if they are allowing untested people with a vaccination on board that does nothing to protect me against them bringing the virus on board. Even the vaccine manufacturers do not claim that it prevents you from catching or spreading COVID.

I consider that good news. I don’t mind taking a test, as stupid and unreliable as they are (not to mention that it doesn’t mean I won’t “contract” C19 within that 72-hour window). And I am not afraid of this virus, so I don’t care if others are not screened (even though you are correct that the vaccines don’t guarantee that they don’t have C19). Still, I consider it good news if they aren’t requiring a Vaccine Passport as the only option (yet).

I have a killer response. 'My primary care provider says the tests are inaccurate and I cannot take the vaccine. 1) I've had Covid. (2) I have an autoimmune disorder (3) I've had the pneumonia vaccine. 4) Covid is respiratory driven, and I am protected."

Good. My last vaccine was the HepB, back in 2012. Now they are saying it is associated with more cases of Multiple Sclerosis 2-12 years later. I was diagnosed with MS in 2016. I’ll wait for the 20-year safety study.

Like carrying papers you see in old movies. If this bothers you, you should try talking about abortion in San Francisco. Very open minded conversations on that topic.

I just tell people that I already had COVID back in January 2020 and I've been immune ever since. That's why I don't need to wear a mask either. So far that response has left people the most speechless.
