Avoiding Vaccine Conversations?

What is your favorite response to avoid answering about your vaccine status? I do not intend to receive the COVID-19 “vaccine,” for a variety of reasons. In a time of vaccine passports, and when I am asked about my vax status by colleagues and acquaintances on a routine basis (so far only in passing casual conversation), I would like to come up with a few responses. Preferably responses that avoid the issue, avoid publicity and controversy, avoid unnecessarily straining relationships.

I doubt our USA Government will mandate vaccination, but other countries might, and private property owners (e.g., businesses) might. That will be a deal-breaker for me. In the meantime, just for avoiding vaccine conflict in casual conversation (even direct interrogation), what are your favorite retorts?

Good. My last vaccine was the HepB, back in 2012. Now they are saying it is associated with more cases of Multiple Sclerosis 2-12 years later. I was diagnosed with MS in 2016. I’ll wait for the 20-year safety study.

I just tell people that I am waiting for the 1, 3 and 5 year safety and efficacy reports and then I will consider it.

Speaking of safe.... Remind them that the Supreme Court technical legal jargon is that they are “unavoidably unsafe.” And that refers to FDA approved “vaccines.”

I fo not start controvery, but am not above jumping into the mix. My usual response about taking vaccine, "No way in hell!" Tell them I hope it works for them, but they are safe, no matter what I do. I do not add that they will likely die or become zombies in a year or so.

Yes, key is for Emergency Use and it's still experimental.. If people want to take it that's their choice but I get frustrated with the folks who think everyone has to have it for us all to be safe...

I just tell people that I already had COVID back in January 2020 and I've been immune ever since. That's why I don't need to wear a mask either. So far that response has left people the most speechless.

His reputation can stand a few slurs. He is a really top notch physician and my grandfather held that title for many, many years. No harm done. N

When I was walking my dog this AM a couple who live a few houses from me were walking in on the same street going in the opposite direction across the street, I said good morning to them and the elderly wife ( both are in their late 70's) immediately put on her mask despite being 15 to 20 feet from me. I ask her why she did that her reply was that they lost so many friends to Covid. I told her that the virus couldn't exist outside in the open air (the wind was blowing at the time) and that the news media is scaring people into thinking they needed masks on even outside. Her husband wasn't wearing a mask a nodding his head in agreement with me. I was going to tell her that here in Arizona on windy days that there are pollens, dust, and other spores in the air but if I did that she would have put her mask back on after she took it off to talk to me at the distance we were at.

Laughing...No...you are 'Least likely' be bothered by the little covid creatures...

Any bloodtype can be a non secreator, depends on your ancestry, I would imagine but it is a rarity...
Most of the population are secreators.

Okay, this is a new concept to me. I’m O+, so that means I’m more likely to be a non-secretor? I suppose that is good, but apparently doesn’t matter much to the people in charge.

oh yes. Once the free market stops requiring masks in competitive places, I will just NOT patronize the ones that continue with the mask only policy.

You are correct. Masks are stupid. Whether or not you’ve had a “vaccine.”

I’m just saying some places will ease up on the restrictions. Not public places like grocery stores, but some businesses/schools.

Also, I am seeing more and more public businesses moving from the “masks required for entry” to “we wear masks and ask you to too” policy. I walk like a freeman in those businesses.

No, sorry, it occurred to me after-the-fact that I shouldn’t have attempted the dry sarcasm. One because sarcasm can be hard to detect via text in the first place; two because we don’t know each other so well.

The lack of masking amongst him and his patients is what some people would see and become hysterical: “You’re trying to kill grandma,” and such.

I would consider him a breath of fresh air. Wish my docs had more sense.

Being simpleminded, If the vaccine gives me 94% immunity after two shots and 3 weeks time after second shot, and there is NO way a simple mask like people are wearing gives me anywhere close to 94% immunity, its stupid to have worn the mask once vaccinated.

    I am wrong on this?

I consider that good news. I don’t mind taking a test, as stupid and unreliable as they are (not to mention that it doesn’t mean I won’t “contract” C19 within that 72-hour window). And I am not afraid of this virus, so I don’t care if others are not screened (even though you are correct that the vaccines don’t guarantee that they don’t have C19). Still, I consider it good news if they aren’t requiring a Vaccine Passport as the only option (yet).

For what it’s worth, many institutions are allowing people to ease the social distancing restrictions if everyone present has been vaccinated. I think this is entirely wrong-headed for many reasons (e.g., the vax doesn’t do what they think it does; the masks don’t do what they think it does; etc.). But there’s that.
