He is surprising me. I lost all faith in him when he was AG but it seems he has a newly acquired strength in the right direction. He's been tough during this Covid crap.

He also said to use COMMON SENSE, something I have found lacking in 2020 and thus far 2021.
I am going to sneak into Austin to see if the real estate agent they call mayor has started listening yet or if he is still letting the shipped In homeless continue to run the city.

Yeah, i saw this good news early this a.m. and my heart just soared!!! For all of Abbott’s imperfections, I’m thrilled he spoke out for freedom .... Let’s see, South Dakota, Texas, Mississippi ..... there’s hope. Today, I’m proud to be a Texan

Absolutely, and some (most no doubt, certainly me) people will go to places that are open and convenient.

Great, if people want to wear them, go ahead. If people want to require them in their homes and businesses, go ahead. This is freedom.

Watch the droves of "How to lie with statistics" unfold as people seek to justify their positions with "data".

I think any business has the right to demand masking, and IMO at first a lot of them will. But when they see the money heading down the street they'll figure it out. Hope so, anyway!

I wonder about the timing. I think yesterday was a great day to make the new rules active...why next week?

A lot of people are saying Abbot only opened the state because he's planning to run. Trust me, everyone's not thrilled with his performance. I would guess he's going to have a tough time, but I can't see an improvement with ANY Democrat candidate. That would likely sink the state.

I'm just so glad that when I get down there in the next few weeks - permanently - I won't have to deal with the mask thing. Though now there's a huge groundswell of virtue-signaling that "I'm going to keep wearing my mask." Well, Okay, don't care if you do, but I won't.

I am a high school teacher in the Houston area. My school district looks like it is going to follow the CDC guidelines as opposed to what Governor Abbott has decided. I just hope that there will be overwhelming pressure to do away with the masks but I doubt it.

I wish I could move there now. Maybe Abbot makes a run in 2024!

South Dakota first. TX next. Open up!

The problem the totalitarians are going to have is the success of these freedom-oriented approaches. Totalitarians rely on there being no control for their social experiment. If these succeed, evidence will demonstrate they have unnecessarily crushed our economy. Hopefully more and more freedom-oriented states will follow, and the data will be irrefutable, even for the ridiculous media. Biden et al will be left holding the turd, and there is little he can do except watch.
Expect this to precipitate greater claimed success from vaccinations (means less lying about the issue), and CDC supporting more openness to reduce marked evidence of stupidity.

Mississippi has declared the same, beginning today. Texas' opening is next week. Hopefully many more States follow. (South Dakota never closed.)

There are days I wish I was back near Lubbock.
Today I was refused service at a medical facility. Had appointment for over 2 months. Two previous appointments with no challenges. I spent part of the afternoon honing my database on Fed and State laws that were violated.

Problem: Try to find a lawyer with balls. Anyone have Sydney Powell's number?
