I think you should have to hand over your withholding in cash (maybe check would be okay) with each paycheck. Every time politicians decide to do something like help the poor, make longer prison sentences, or invade another country, the amount of cash withholding would change. Gov't would do a lot less.

I would be fearful of all the individuals who have gotten fat income tax checks bowing at the alter of the government largess.
