I was banned from Breitbart about a year ago. Had been reading it from the beginning, so I was a loyal reader. That counts for nothing. I repeatedly tried to contact them through their "let us know if you're having problems..." link. Nada. Zero response. I believe it was because, every time I saw a provacative commentor (troll), I would check their upvotes and discover they had less than 200... as if they were not real people. I have about 34,000 up votes. I would then call them out as trolls. The people who run the comments section didn't like that, apparently. Anybody else have a similar experience?

I have been on Galt's Gulch for over 8 months, posted many times, but I did not know about the Introductions category. Just learned of this.

I have an acquaintance from England on FB where we belong to a Slavic Mythology and Spirituality Group who is a practicing Buddhist; he posts regularly on Buddhist practices and philosophy. FB stopped him from posting for 48hrs due to supposed complaints against Buddhist philosophy. I was on Messenger posting to a high school friend about HCl which was removed with a notice that it didn't meet their guidelines. I couldn't believe that FB monitors Messenger also.

Not with Breitbart but with Facebook something very similar. Essentially all social media is controlled by the Left. So I abandoned all social media.

I remember myself and DHalling going toe to toe over freedom vs liberty. Stargeezer, shared quite a few phone hours. And where is Non-Mooching Artist? And don't start with me about New Normal! LMAO!

Do not do anything you are uncomfortable with. I, nor anyone here, will use force of any type to change your standing as long as civil discourse is observed.
I have been watching the r/h column of "comments" and of those "online" closely over the past month. There is an unusual volume of interest/newcomers of late. gotta go...I see a couple new names that may need welcome....LOL

Back in the "old days" of the Gulch there were also frequent "hijackings" and tangents of any given topic.

It was a LOT of fun. Everyone brought a sense of humor to an often senseless world view.

Ah...I miss the days of LS and the others.

Commander, I saw the profile page. Is that what you're referring to? I guess I am a little hesitant to give up personal info.

i agree with that. That's why I try to verify that the poster is an actual person with a point of view, rather than some kind of troll.

I remember that it changed a bit. I also think whoever is running their comments section is a PC liberal. I never said anything remotely vulgar or racist, because I don't think that way. The fact that they pulled my plug without so much as a warning or flag and then no feedback is what sticks in my craw.

Are these Trolls or Personas (Govt created influencers, using AI techniques via the Millie Video with the 2 whistleblowers).

The problem is that for the same logic of us being in a simulation (once a society becomes sophisticated enough, they will create MORE simulations than actual societies)...

Once AIs can be unleashed as Personas in Social media to motivated and manipulate, then there is no point in playing the game.

it completely explains the decimation of MySpace, et al. And why FB, et al will ultimately fail.

The site changed after Andrew died. I covered an occupy event back in the day and did a live interview with one of the participants, I sent a link to one of the people there and they called me to coordinate putting it up on the site, an hour later one of the producers/editors called back and said he had a problem with the name of my business (Starznbarz Photography) and said I had to explain why the name wasnt racist... my reply was that I knew and worked with Andrew at a few events and I was not in the habit of explaining myself to someone that didnt bother to look at my site content ( 12,000 + images and video) before asking a stupid question. Needless to say, the piece never ran on the site.

I have not had that issue on Breibart, but I have had issues on Fox News in the past, with my posts disappearing. I copped. Apparently, some liberal made the IT dept or something. I called them out on my posts each time. I have even found some sites, just drop content mid-post if it is conservative. Obama did give the Internet to the UN, who put China in control of it. That should never have taken place.

I definitely think so, Lucky. This is a paid-for, organized effort...by those with the time, money, personnel, and motivation. What's funny is how they pop in...then "poof"...gone.

I have exactly the same experience. Two examples:

On one site a poster has a very English first and last name, before the name is 'Dr', after the name is 'Ph.D'. An eyebrow goes up at this. The post says without providing any support or ref 'HCQ is not a zinc ionophore'. I have seen papers reporting that it is. I reckon this is not just an ignoramus loud mouth but a troll, maybe paid.

On another site, a poster with a first name says the Henry Ford Clinic study is full of errors. I ask, 'Which are?'. There is an answer, it is a ref to that poster's other contributions on that site. There is no list, not even one error is stated.

I conclude this sort of thing is not opinion but organized in some way.

Downvote does not affect interaction or posting ability.
The only thing I have found disconcerting is a down without a posted disagreement.

This is probably as good a place to ask as any, since I am not really all that familiar with the issue. What are the actual consequences of getting downvotes? Say, a lot of them?

Does this affect anyone's ability to post?
