I think this was the "October Surprise" but 2 week early. Maine-Collins and Alaska-Murkowski have already made their votes clear and Utah-Romney is still butt-hurt so plan on him siding with the other two losers. Murkowski and Romney are not up for reelection this year but Collins is and she should go down in a ball of flames if she goes against what we need. Gardner in Colorado is also in a tough challenge so this is going to be a very rocky road. We could gain a seat in the SCOTUS and lose the majority in the Senate but that could happen anyway if we don't stand SUPER strong in November.

Recall when POTUS candidate Benghazi Killery Clinton said, "My dream is open borders?" That scared me dino because at that point I thought she was gonna win.
Well, my dream is term limits. Unfortunately, me dino thinks my dream will have as much luck
as the ultimate ambition of the Wicked Witch of the East. (The West belongs to Porking Piglosi).

    TFG!!! Thank ____ God!

She was a breakthrough in early career, but in the last decade(s) has been legislating from the bench. She lost her way and was a huge negative in the end.

My brother and I were talking over the weekend. We both agree, if we could have one of 1) Trump's second term or 2) another solid Constitutionalist justice (e.g. Scalia or Gorsuch), we would pick the solid SCOTUS.

Biden would be bad, but with four solid Constitutional Justices (excluding Roberts and the pictures the DNC has of him with sodomizing goat), real long-term affect is better.

What I think is interesting is that Democrats are already misreporting the "McConnell Rule." McConnell's refusal to take up Merrick Garland's nomination was specifically because Obama at the time was a lame duck president who's political affiliation opposed that of the Senate majority. President Trump is running for re-election and the Senate majority is of the same affiliation.

Really, it's all politics anyway and despite John Roberts' assertions to the contrary, the Supreme Court has ALWAYS been a partisan body. That's why the incessant calls to rely on precedent are so damaging because the Court has leaned Democrat for much of its existence - certainly since FDR.

    BINGO.
No money from anyone except registered voters ($500 each max) in the district. (No undocumented registrations of voters.)
Limit spending amounts in every race (e.g., $10 per registered voter)
NO RE-ELECTIONS whatsoever for federal office and candidates can NOT run for another office after serving in an elected office. GET A REAL PRODUCTIVE JOB.
NO CAREER POLITICIANS. POWER CORRUPTS. Career politicians do not represent the people.

Billions being spent on brainwashing people to choose between Trump and Biden while tens of thousands of small businesses go bankrupt because of government action???
What a complete waste of effort and scarce resources.

True, I will give them 5.00 a month, and then they ping me daily, but I ignore them. Maybe they should reform the whole election system so they DONT need any money and end the bribery.

Patriots with a backbone like Candace Owens are NOT why me dino prefers to call myself an Independent instead of a Republican.
I've responded to some donation requests for money that goes DIRECTLY into Trump's reelection campaign.
Trump's reelection donation requests via the GOP? File 13 for each and every one! The dino has a trust issue. I know what RINOs are.

She needs to be in Congress first, then Senate, simply to shake the old bats up, point out their hypocrisy.

I would default to agreeing with you on the Dems being counted on to vote against any Trump nominee. However...

Several of them are facing re-election in heavy Trump places - and only narrowly survived previous challenge - and may not want to risk a loss. It will be interesting. If Reid had not dropped the 60, it could well be moot.

With it being as close, and only needing 50 votes (with Pence as tie-break), the Democrats absolutely need 100% of their own. Im not entirely sure they'll get it. I think it will come down to who Trump nominates and how much of the Democrat rulebook won't fly.

For example, if Trump were to nominate a woman of color it empties almost all of the Democratic quiver. I'm certainly not arguing that he should nominate someone based on those kinds of attributes - absolutely not. However, I would not put it past him to take someone who is qualified yet also meets that criteria just to mess with them.

And I would totally pop some corn and watch.

Lovely idea but I think some would protest her young years. Not me! I think she is marvelous.

Common knowledge that she was trying to live long enough to see Trump defeated. I think she actually stated it more than once.

What a pitiful way to live, that she would put that before spending her last days with her family.

I'm pretty sure she was doing that all on her own. In her place, I probably would have done my best to hang on.

Why do I think they were keeping this poor lady alive hoping she wouldn't die before the election? I don't like these people who do things like this. Unfeeling (ugly word).

If they have any backbone at all they should get it done after a lot of horse trading because they are afraid they won't have the majority after the election. By that same logic the Dems can be depended on to vote against anyone Trump chooses. I expect Pence to cast the deciding vote and that will be his political legacy. (It's his only chance to be remembered, imo.) I agree with your confidence in the (lack of) courage of CINO wimps.
Sure is nice to have something interesting to speculate about. Thanks for the early birthday present, RBG. Enjoy eternity in hell.

It's interesting. There was a national review article on this and there have been 29 vacancies during an election year and in all cases the President nominated someone -- even for post election vacancies.

If the Senate is held by the other party, the nominee is almost never confirmed (Obama case). If the Senate is held by the same party, the nominee is almost always confirmed.

This will be a test to see if the Republicans in the Senate are for the Constitution or against it. If they drop the ball on this, then the Tree of Liberty will need serious watering.

It HAS to happen. If we have a Constitutional crisis on our hands (with an evenly divided Supreme Court and a contested election) our country is dead. It's not too late, but the Senate will have to put its collective head down and ignore all the whining and crying. Shumer needs to be kidnapped or something, to get him out of the way. Also, a female contender is less likely to draw screams of "rape," though that could happen too.
