One can only hope she meets the 100,000s of unborn abortion victims.

The comments on this remind me of my favorite cartoon. A young Congressman standing in front of the Rayburn bldg saying, "Now that I have been elected, my first official act is to get myself re-elected."

Can you imagine the fallout from the world where House elects Biden and the Senate elects Trump as the VP. So many exploded heads...

Great thought. Conservatives would never do that, though...at least, I don't think they would. Maybe if they were pushed a little harder, they might get fed up and do it.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of the lunch arrangements. If you're correct, it could already be a done deal. Good.

There's no Constitutional indication of how many Justices are the "correct" number of Justices, nor is there a limit specified. So, if the Dems get in power they can make all sorts of rule changes, including increasing the number of justices. Once the number is specified, they can just go ahead and add six Liberals right then and there.

And don't put it past them for a minute - they will literally do anything - I swear, I think they'd set themselves on fire, if they thought it would bring down Trump.

You didn't think they were going to report it truthfully, did you? That would be a first, especially since the truth doesn't benefit them.

I really do think she needs to "season" some. I wish she was a little older though, because a black female conservative nominee would really tweak some liberal undies! I like her and think she will go far, but she's not quite there. Yet.

arklatex! My home grounds! Haven't heard that term in about 30 years, since I left there....still read the digital edition of the Longview News Journal every day though. It has gotten ridiculously liberal in the past years though, so I read in incognito mode and never pay them a penny. Not gonna support their liberal trash journalism.

Definitely a possibility. However, the Republican Senators eat lunch together in a closed room every single day that they are in session. You know these sessions HAVE to be confidential and if something leaks, it wouldn't be that hard to figure out who was doing it. Instant karma :-)

On the other hand, I think they are MOSTLY of a mind that they need to confirm a certain kind of SC justice, and it's not that Trump has been coy about it. It will be a woman and he named two already. I don't think that committing to vote for the eventual nominee is really all that much of a stretch.

Given this particular situation, I'd think the Senate would control EVERYTHING about it, except for the news conferences where the Demo-Rats cry and scream and wail and bleat (and threaten). And nobody HAS to watch those.

A concern for me too. Something I am surprised hasn't already happened....to that, I credit not the restraint of any opposition, but the competence of the Secret Service and other protective services, who are surely earning their salaries in spades these days.

"...unqualified..", which is why I deliberately left out 4 regarding Ms Owens.

"...disgustingly biased legislator hiding under a judges robes." Best description I've seen so far.

I'm in agreement with your assessment of the up coming election. We are about to experience dangerous times. Stock up.

Yes, but because she is too young, completely unqualified, and inexperienced (with zero legal knowledge) to be a high court judge.
As I said elsewhere, this process is complete rubbish. It should be about choosing the best qualified person to make unbiased judgments regarding constitutionality on existing and prospective laws. That requires an unbiased understanding of the original intent of the people who wrote the constitution and the first 10 amendments.
Ginsberg was a perfect example of a disgustingly biased legislator hiding under a judges robes. Obama's appointees are carbon copies of Ginsberg and pathetic excuses for supposed unbiased judges of constitutional law.
I will not be surprised if the next Democrat con-gress takes aim at the Supremes with their impeachment weapons in order to more quickly destroy liberty and America.
This election will mark either the survival or the end of individual liberty for the human race for generations. We are the last bastion of individual liberty (albeit limited and shrinking) in the entire world.
