Case fatality rate- is a way of comparing and relating two data items, the deaths, and the number of incidents of a condition.
Usually the deaths data would be over a time period such a month, the incidents data would be the number of confirmed cases at the start of the the time period.

When this figure is derived from data it is not a risk, the deaths have already occurred.

This figure, death rate or case fatality rate is used to monitor changes. Changes can be for example some health policy/actions or the fast growth of some infection. The public/governments want to know what helped or what hindered.

Be careful of jargon buzzwords that don’t mean what the individual word suggest. Case Fatality Rate is not a rate but a risk.

Entry “Case fatality rate” in Last, John M. (2001), A Dictionary of Epidemiology, 4th edition; Oxford University Press, p. 24

Embarrassed...what does CFR stand for, please? I googled, but all I got was "Council of Foreign Relations." Somehow I don't think that is it!

Exactly !! If you are being killed by corona, what DO you have to lose by trying something thats been used for decades without serious side effects.

I also heard that when they give you remdesivir, its known to negatively affect the liver A LOT. They have to monitor liver enzymes and when they get %x normal levels, they have to stop the treatment until the damage comes down. Doesnt sound like a very safe drug to me...

Hey, if it works, USE IT. Consider cancer chemo- not everything works the same on all people, but IF it works, use it.

The hubbub over this was just because Trump promoted it if it works. The leftists are pigs and all words out of their mouths have a hidden agenda of hating trump

"NO LIVES MATTER"! Just follow the money. a standard dose of HCQ costs about $12 while a standard dose of remdesivir is around $3,000. Many of the countries in the Green zone are where malaria is common and HCQ is sold OTC alongside of aspirin. I have heard that King Fucci has his fingers in the financials of the remdesivir maker.

Thanks for the great information. With all the FUD going around about COVID-19, this is a welcome breath of fresh air. Minus the face mask, of course. ;)

On my numerous trips to malaria zones, I always used one form or another of HCQ. The side effect warning was a bit ominous regarding mental problems that might develop. Nonetheless, I and my young family never had any side effects.

I concur with someone who recently said, regarding another issue, “What have you got to lose?”

That first one is nice and easy to read.
Of course there are many complications, but the message is clear that HCQ works. I could be convinced otherwise, you'd need very strong evidence indeed.

    Meanwhile, take a look at
    http://www.francesoir.fr/societe-sant...
    ..or.
    https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics...

-- Swiss agency collected all data, HCQ used in Switzerland for CCP19, death rate fluctuated, slight decline. Then the big fake Lancet article came out, WHO reacted fast- HCQ is dangerous and should not be used!
The Swiss stopped use of HCQ, the death rate shot up, stayed high. Then the Lancet retracted, death rate dropped back to where is was before.
This is very strong evidence for using HCQ
