“It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government.”—Thomas Paine. America’s Revolutionary Founders Would Be Anti-Government Extremists Today

"Had the Declaration of Independence been written today, it would have rendered its signers extremists or terrorists, resulting in them being placed on a government watch list, targeted for surveillance of their activities and correspondence, and potentially arrested, held indefinitely, stripped of their rights and labeled enemy combatants.

This is no longer the stuff of speculation and warning.

In fact, Attorney General William Barr recently announced plans to target, track and surveil “anti-government extremists” and preemptively nip in the bud any “threats” to public safety and the rule of law.

It doesn’t matter that the stated purpose of Barr’s anti-government extremist task force is to investigate dissidents on the far right (the “boogaloo” movement) and far left (antifa, a loosely organized anti-fascist group) who have been accused of instigating violence and disrupting peaceful protests.

Boogaloo and Antifa have given the government the perfect excuse for declaring war (with all that entails: surveillance, threat assessments, pre-crime, etc.) against so-called anti-government extremists.

Without a doubt, America’s revolutionary founders would have been at the top of Barr’s list."

It is difficult to argue that those bucking the status quo are often deemed “revolutionaries.”. It also looks like Ayn Rand did a pretty good job of predicting results in a world run by political fools. However, I think that I would rather live in the world brought about by the founding fathers than the one that would result from the current batch of “revolutionaries.”

Had America's founders written the Declaration of Independence in Hong Kong this month, they would have been immediately arrested. It would have been similar here for Americans now, too.

America, her ideals and the idea, has been under attack since the beginning. It's never ceased.

I Still say: It's a Fight for Conscious Human Life against non conscious evil humanoid life...they likely will never leave us alone.

Many of today's patriots would not treat the author of "The Age of Reason" any better than did Paul Ryan treat Rand after learning that she had been an atheist. The world has lost most of the ideas from the Enlightenment which Paine had been guided by along with some of the founders. The call for making the USA into a theocracy by many conservatives is just as bad or possibly worse than a dictatorship by socialists.

So educate me. I thought the boogaloo was a short-lived dance craze. What the heck does it have to do with "right-wing extremism" aka leftist projection?

I'm not any expert on it either. I looked it up on wikipedia, but imo postings there can be biased against conservative philosophy. The entire movement might not even exist except in the minds of leftist propagandists or be created from the wallet of George Soros. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boogalo... ) That article claims it is libertarian but libertarians are against use of force, so imo, that is reason enough to suspect that source is anti-conservative biased rubbish.

Never heard of this before. As I read through the Wiki link provided by FFA (thanks) I ran into this: "According to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)...", which means I no longer trust or believe anything said here. Obviously I never heard of it for a reason. I'll see what pops up in the future regarding a handful of nobodies wearing Hawaiian shirts an camo pants.
