The sinking ship

Fostered into weakness by a single mother.. I didn't develop my masculinity until after I joined the US Navy where I repaired aircraft electronics and took Shooto (MMA) lessons in Japan. Immediately after the Navy, I was an Oyster fisherman out of Mississippi for about 8 years, and quit just before hurricane Katrina to become a slot technician for a more stable income. After that, I was trying to fulfill my life's ambition of rock and roll, basically. I took several jobs that I didn't really like just to stay in proximity to the band I played in, which was a terrible mistake. Now I'm in school for web development, and a guaranteed job after school. I survived child abuse, eating out of the trash, being thrown from a car in a crash, fist fights, losing three friends to suicide, and sinking on an oyster boat. I was raised to believe in all of the hippie fantasy that mothers teach their young men, and it did terrible psychological damage. I'm over all of that now. Adversity only made me stronger. I am glad to be a part of Galt's Gulch, and grateful to be alive and well. I am also grateful for the REAL leaders out there who develop people to the maximum of their potential and plan for a future that we can all look forward to. Thank you for sharing your intellect and creativity with us.
