If We Don't Get Four More Years?

If we don't get four more years of Trump what do you think would be good adjustments to make as an Objectivist or any self-respecting non-leftie? Would hiding of assets be advisable? Make sure to have real estate in a deep red state (not purple like Texas of Nevada)? What might be a good idea?

From an investment point of view, it would be useful to review which companies fared the worst a while after the 2008 & 2012 elections. Those industries would be the best to stay out of, if not going to bonds or gold/silver altogether.. Likewise I would focus on investing in the ones that have done well since 2016 and that didn't fare badly in the previous administration.

Any decent (non-liberal-loonie) state near California is extremely high-priced now. The only part of California still more expensive are the elitist areas around the bay area and Hollywood, for the most part. This is due to the mass exodus.

I know how you feel. I have lived 27 of the last 34 years in Nevada. The exception years were 7 years in Wyoming.

I first saw Las Vegas in 1980. Top over the pass coming from Boulder and there it was. A small city way down there in the valley. Now......This same effect is ruining the Reno-Carson area.

The demographics of Nevada are now horrible. This influx from "over the hill" is ruining what was a great traditionally libertarian State. I remember what it was like when I first moved to Gabbs, Nevada in 1987. I live now in far northeast Elko County that is still gold mining and ranching country. Ranching - sort of.

Remember the old adage about the Okies fleeing to California? It is said the diaspora raised the average IQ's of both Oklahoma and California.

Now those fleeing Kalifornia for obvious reasons are lowering the average IQ's of both Nevada and the People's Repub. What a day to post this. Geez.

It's always "different" when you are talking about "the way I do it" as opposed to "the way THEY do it."

Those Kommiefornians just didn't do it GOOD enough.

Looking into Gem county just outside of Emmett, we are finding some reasonable parcels. Also finding some outrageous prices…

Virginia has had the same problem. A lot of people, D.C.'ers apparently, moving into Northern Virginia, and bringing their D.C. politics with them, and proceeding to ruin the state.
My idea is this: At the turn of the other century, a lot of immigrants were coming in from Eastern Europe, and there were "settlement houses", and other things set up; and there were classes given to these people to teach them true Americanism, and belief in the Founders' principles for this country. So maybe we should do something like that to work on the "immigrants" from the leftist States. Of course, there is not the same incentive--these people already being American citizens, they don't need this kind of training/education in order to gain citizenship. There would have to be some other incentive to get them to come and take some sort of classes, or listen to some sort of persuasion. Perhaps a free movie once in a while, or a country or line-dance session; but once they were in the building, there would be a chance. Also, the approach could be: "Why did you want to come to this state? What was wrong with your own state?...I see, that was hard on you. Do you want to set up the same hardships and inconveniences for yourselves here?--Now listen, we've got some new ideas you might want to consider...." etc. And it just might work.

From what I heard on a talk show, and to think about the question presented, there appears to be a greater danger; what if the Democrats are defeated, might they not "rise again", sort of, as the Republican party rose again after the Goldwater defeat?--How to stop that?--In which case, if the Democrats become more rabidly, radically leftist, the best idea, would be to come out more with the Objectivist politics, and try to hammer it home even more.

Agree, I am already dropping my health insurance this year. Between the deductibles and the costs, it is the SINGLE biggest impediment to retirement.
If I do this for 5 years, I could afford to retire early.

My health is rocking, and I know what to keep an eye on for the 80% of diseases (Heart, T2D, Obesity, etc) that destroy people and cost the most money.

It could change, I am taking that risk. My health insurance is a 9mm round, like a horse with a broken leg. If I become a drain on the family, I am out.
The next generation is the important one now. They are pretty much set, and if we don't drain ourselves, they will inherit something for the first time in My Families life!

To me, that is the definition of an American... Willing to sacrifice themselves for their children! My dad worked 7 days a week so we could stay in school.

Also: STOP EATING PROCESSED Foods. These HUGE companies pay to corrupt the research (Food Pyramid is as Corrupt as Global Warming, and more so).
I am getting a 5lb CO2 tank ($65) delivered today, Filling it is $15. A $70 hose connects it through my counter to my soda stream ($39). And I can make as much seltzer as I like (and I like). No sugary syrups for me. (This is 1 yrs worth of CO2. Which costs me $15/mo on the canister exchange program=$180/yr).

So, $150 up front covers me for $180/yr. And this is compared to spending $30/month (minimum) on club soda and a lot more on Perrier, etc. I've had this SodaStream for 1 year, so I am buying this upgrade from SAVINGS already. And I drink more seltzer now, which is my guilty pleasure (Gave up Sugar, most carbs, and Alcohol 2 years ago). [btw, changing $180/yr for $15-20/yr... That's a huge savings for my next 20 years in my book]

They WILL do it if they need to, although Fauxahontas wounded him during the debate. (But like Trump, he will understand how to play in the next one)! He has the cash to stay in.

    The LEFT invented double standards!

Finally, the real question is simply this:

Can the AMAZING Trump reframe MiniMike in such a way, that every ad you see of him, SIMPLY forces you to compare him to something bad (Worse debate performance in history), and CONTRAST to Trump.

MEANING: Every time someone says Bloomberg, we think MiniMike, and reinforces the RIGHTS and the INDEPENDENTS desire to not vote LEFT...
I think it will. I think Trump will be able to REFRAME the argument and his opponent in very simple terms.

And what is MiniMike going to do to attack President Trump... "He's very dark and scary, and DESPITE doing a great job and NOT breaking the law for 4 years, and the fake coverage and charges... Re-electing him will Embolden him to FINALLY show his true colors!" They are already trying this, and it is FAILING.

The PUSH is 2 fold. 1 to encourage the left to show up (that's an even fight, Left vs Right)). AND for the independents.

Therefore, watch trump tweet crazy stuff like Gay Bollywood stuff to sway independents into realizing he's a normal guy who loves ALL AMERICANS!
Even those who didn't vote for him! Refused to insult HRC Supporters!

Thanks. It's frightening, huh? It was surreal watching that debate. I wish my son made a video of my face watching it...

Actually what you do should be a function of where you are at in life.
My game plan for an HRC win was to divorce my wife, give custody of our daughter, set her up as an employee, rent part of the house to her, pay her a TINY salary for reception work, and make her eligible for all kinds of tax benefits (head of household, etc), and then free health care, food stamps, etc.
Just the savings on health care for the 2 of them was like 10K/yr, now 12K/yr. [We are dropping our health insurance as the daughter takes a full-time job now]

Personally, I was going to work less and pay less. Currently we are spending ALMOST $40,000/yr in insurances (Health, Car, House, Life), in that order!
[Car and House will switch when daughter moves out, but that will be a couple of years, and is a maybe]. Thank God we have no debt!

BTW, car insurance is insane. This is going to have us reduce to 1 car and use uber/lyft. Stores are within 5 miles, and I have a bike. Add a RACK to it, and I will HONESTLY bike to the stores! I will add as little economic input to the system as possible.

But I agree. Have a plan. Your plan should revolve around income reduction, and SOAKING the system we are forced to pay into. If the OTHER 1/2 (us) did that, it would break the system pretty quickly.

Insofar as asset holdings. This gets tough. Our corrupt government confiscated gold before, and could do it again (highly illegal), but less effective since we are NOT on a gold standard. They are SLOWLY making cash illegal... Which is insane. I was forced to make a LEGAL statement when making a large cash payment on a DEBT to pay it off as to where the money came from. (Unlike the deep state, if I lied, I would go to jail and pay a huge price).

Might I recommend INTERMITTENT FASTING to everyone. I eat far less $$$ worth of food these days. I rarely eat out (1/2 - 1/4 of what I used to). Cut the cords (phone and cable), take up some hobbies, like knife sharpening that you can do for your neighbors with your free time!

I could never quite understand that. People are leaving Kalifornia because it's becoming a commie state unfriendly to the truly productive and the first thing they do in their new location is to vote to convert it into a commie state.

The debate would have been laughable if it were about anything except the Presidency. Abaco, you called it perfectly. If this is what the Dems have to offer, and if this is what "the people" want, then the country is done. If we survive the upcoming purge, maybe our descendents will bring the dream back. 4 more years, PLEASE!

I'm still reeling from what I watched in the debate last night. I haven't watched one in ages. I caught about 30 to 40 minutes of last night's debate because I couldn't look away. Like watching a train wreck.

Here's my problem. How in the hell did all of those people get this close to the most powerful position in the world? (Office of the Pres) It was like listening to a bunch of 6th graders having a debate. My 8th grader, who has autism, was able to pick their arguments apart...laughing about it at times.

It doesn't bode well for America...

Given that even some very left wing commentators were saying that after this last debate, they expected to see Trump laughing his way to a landslide victory, I doubt seriously that we'll be denied another four years of Trump.

I will make this prediction: just as when Obama won in 2008, if Socialist Bernie wins in 2020 you can bet that sales of firearms and ammunition will skyrocket. And I'll be one of those buying...
