I live at Galt's Gulch (I really do). Have been an Objectivist since 1971 (40 of my 60 years). Over those 40 years, I have read most everything Ayn Rand wrote. My home is in a very remote area of southern Arizona where I moved when I decided to strike in 2003.

    khalling, Good fortune for you in the future. Your time had come also. IP laws have become impossible to navigate. Business in that area was much simpler when I started. Then came the second hander patent trolls. Don't get me started!

    we do intellectual property. 2003 was an important year for us, regulation wise. watched all our brilliant startups lose their shot at going public after that. we shrugged 1 year ago August. Much happier now, but still sad for how the country unraveled since Reagan.

    It was the accumulation over decades. I have worked hard since i was 14. My last gig was management for a very large semiconductor firm that I joined when no one had heard of them.

    By 2003, I knew the time had come to strike and I had worked to have the ability to do so. I see lots of folks on here (mostly younger than I) asking "when is the right time to strike?"

    The answer is, "you will know when it is time".

    hey Mulligan! I guess you should be welcoming me to the gulch! :) why did you strike in 2003? was there something significant that happened in our country-or was it the accumulation of everything ?
