The CDC: any place for that in the Gulch?

In the discussion about America's response to the Ebola virus, I asked what place anything like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would have, either in a voluntary association of homesteaders (like Galt's Gulch in AS) or under what I would call an Objectivistic constitution (say, as Judge Narragansett was amending it in the last sequence).

Ayn Rand did not treat this subject, so I suggest we treat it ourselves. Maybe the head of the Ayn Rand Institute could pick this up.

No, but I'm sure I could if I had to. Frankly though, pesticides would be something I would rather buy from the outside. A generic version of Roundup should do quite well.

Thanks, Temlakos, Zenphamy, and Robbie for your discussion on disease control within Atlantis. I just put a link to it in the planning Atlantis post for posterity.

I would recommend a temporary quarantine period prior to admission to Atlantis. Mosquito eradication would be an additional requirement. Has anyone ever done any crop dusting?
