New Trend Threatens American Way Of Life

"Birthright citizenship, the policy of automatically granting citizenship to anyone born in U.S. territory, even those whose parents are citizens of foreign nations".

As if there wasn't enough stuff threatening the American way of life...and I'm not sure what that is anymore, but I would of never guessed the problem was this bad. We all have heard about "Anchor babies" but this one takes the cake.

The argument "that the Fourteenth Amendment “clarified for the first time that federal citizenship precedes and supersedes its state-level counterpart,” and that it specified two criteria for citizenship: “birth or naturalization (i.e., lawful immigration), and being subject to U.S. jurisdiction.” Birthright citizenship, he claims, is inherently self-contradictory, as it violates a basic tenet of social compact theory. Since it is unlikely that Congress will do anything about it, Anton argues President Trump should issue an executive order specifying “to federal agencies that the children of noncitizens are not citizens.”"

"Now for some Real Russian collusion: "Lured by the charm of Little Havana or the glamour of South Beach, some 15 million tourists visit Miami every year, But for a growing number of Russian women, the draw isn’t sunny beaches or pulsing nightclubs. It’s U.S. citizenship for their newborn children."

"President Trump should issue an executive order specifying “to federal agencies that the children of noncitizens are not citizens.”".

You give me more credit than I deserve. Humanoids -- what a great distinction. The very thought of the distinction is electrifying.

Ah, but you rightly speak of "Conscious" value creating humans otherwise we should call them Human-oids, the "oid" standing for only the brain inside the body and De-v"oid" of a pathway to the mind or the "I".

"Being Human" ain't such a big dea lexcept for a few things. There's art, literature, and music, hybrids such as opera, broadway, plays, revues, solo concerts philosophy, etc.etc. So.....perhaps we need to put up with the garbage in order for there to be a Beethoven, Rembrandt, Rodin, Shakespeare, Splillane, and Bernstein. Still it seems so dumb to have to buy a gallon of milk in order to skim off a pint of cream..

It is not birthright citizenship that is the problem! It is the WELFARE state. If people today had to face the same conditions that my grandparents did in 1880, it would be a whole different thing

Is this new? It seems like its been going on for decades. Affluent Russian and Chinese and poor Mexicans. God knows where else this is popular. And perfectly OK for Democrat votes.

I like that approach to nullifying the 14th. Now if we had true patriots in the Congress who would push a remedy.
    If only...

I have made the same argument many times. The position I take is that the 14th Amendment was meant to protect the Freed Slaves and should essentially be considered DEAD legislation, because no one who was alive and specifically covered by the 14th is alive today, much as the 21st Amendment basically nullified the 18th.

Anchor babies are present all over the country. They should be automatic citizens. It is an example of the generosity and good will of America. However, they must be tested every year on their ability to speak in American English, and to test to at least a B grade on American history with a little economics thrown in and lefty teachers thrown out. Libs will scream Discrimination so send them a free bottle of cough medicine.

Birthright citizenship is not unique to the USA.

That's the way it should be and the way British common law treated it clear up to the time the 14th amendment was ratified. In my opinion, Congress would be entirely entitled to pass a law clarifying that the 14th Amendment applies only to US citizens and those who had no allegiance (emancipated slaves) at the time of its passage. If you are coming from another nation or your parents hold citizenship status in another nation, you can apply for citizenship/naturalization just like any other non-citizen, but the practice of anchor babies is an invention of an activist court - it is not substantiated by the history of either the 13th or 14th Amendments nor common law at the time those were enacted.

The quest for US Citizenship ever since the passage of the 14th amendment and implementing laws has been aided and abbeted by those who say that thei means anyone born in the US is a citizen. It became very popular with the Cubans afte Fidel took over and now it is being pusehed and used by Mexicans, Russians anybody who wants to stay here has a baby here then claims they cannot be separated from their child thus they get to stay.
If they do insist on this, give the a document that says the child has the right to claim US citizenship on his 18th birthday and ship the both back to where they came from. Then when they are 18, they can go to a US Embassy and invoke their rights.
Don't think this would please the left aor the right, but it does fix come of the problem at least in the short term.
