House Dems unveil new midterm campaign slogan

I was tempted to put this in Humor...but it can be politics or Culture. Should really be "For the People (As long as we get our cut)", but really, doesn't "For the People" has such a ring of bad Sci Fi politics (Honor Harringtons People Republic of Haven used it) or Atlas Shrugged government control? It is almost an excuse, not a slogan, and has been used many times before to justify imposing their will, taking away freedom, controlling markets. I bet Maduro in Venezuela sues them for copyright infringement, I think he has been using it for the last few years as well...

I really found that John Ringo excelled in this series, I just wish he would have continued it past the three books, but it is still a lot of fun. The audio books were very well executed.

The slogan has one big thing in common with all those "People's Republics"... and that is that they're selective about who counts as part of The People. It's not everybody by a long shot.

Some of the CIA thugs I've run across seemed envious of the KGB's ability to conduct its murderous "wet works." Who knows, maybe they saw a way to get that kind of power with the more authoritarian left in charge. When I was in uniform I was always a little unsettled when I discovered people I worked with did double duty as DIA operatives, but they generally were less "spook" than their CIA counterparts.

CIA seems to have been a bad apple from the start, as it evolved out of OSS. I think they started with the warlike attitude of "no rules to war for us" and it continued into the cold war. They have, according to stories it is hard to confirm, dabbled in everything from drugs to mental manipulation, remote viewing and skunkworks. They dragged Howard Hughes in to Glomar Explorer story and then it seems, made up more lies on lies to cover up they did get the sub, but got very little of it, but a huge pile of radioactive stuff, that was buried on an island in SF Bay. Eisenhower seemed to not trust them, and Kennedy made the mistake of it. DIA seemed to be on the up and up, but it seems hard to know when people can swear to support the Constitution and then work to kill it.

It's ironic that most of us in the DoD community were uneasy with "No Such Agency" because they were very closed off from most of the rest of government agencies. Maybe a quarantine wasn't such a bad thing, since it seems the corruption has spread rather broadly. So far it doesn't seem the DIA has been infected, but that may be mainly because they have a somewhat hostile relationship with the CIA, based on what the military feels are unsavory combat events by CIA operatives.

He appears to have a lot of good, solid protection, in the form of Q. NSA apparently did not go rogue like CIA and FBI did.

I think we both missed the boat here. In know I was a little premature on that trigger because "the people" would connotate rational people.

And it can't be everybody because some are going to have to be stolen from.

How about brain dead? Would that fit the bill?

I've resisted the false flag suspicion about some of these mass shootings to avoid being called a conspiracy nut, but given the uncovering of so much corruption at so many levels in federal law enforcement, it's hard not to give the idea credibility. I used to have some faith in some government institutions, having worked with truly honorable people in the bureaucracy, disregarding the dishonest ones I had to deal with. Unfortunately, I've recently realized that the only solution to clearing out the swamp may be to set fire to it. Trump is attempting to do just that, figuratively, but it's a gamble that he's betting his life on.

So, Doc, "The reason socialists are so opposed to individual ownership of guns is the possibility of a real resistance to the force of an overbearing state."
Doesn't that illustrate the logic that assumes a Deep State would want to have the biggest, most emotional shootings they can, at a rate calculated to keep the idea of "guns are bad" in the sheeple mind, so that then their anti gun push is successful? Look at the discussion we had on Chicago, which is proof gun control is a fantasy, and that the next step is total confiscations of all guns because "we can't have good gun control with the criminals so total ban is needed to protect the people" thus achieving your premise?
To that end, they generate big shootings to keep it in mind, when really there are very few, and perpetrated by people way past high school:

Gold and silver have lasted as a store of value for a long time, and they could be a standard again if someone made it easier to use on a daily basis. Maybe bitcoin gives people the idea its safer, but it isnt.

I thought of a takeoff from Hillary's "Stronger together". How about "weaker together" which is really what they want.

Every tyrannical socialist movement has started with those words "For the People." Implied in that slogan is that the people are helpless rabble who need the guidance and support of the more capable elite, who know what's best for all of us.

The Democrat party is being eaten by fanatic socialists, primarily because the party has driven out any remaining moderates, most of whom fell as casualties of their grudging votes for Obamacare. Fiscal conservatives are also extinct in the party, demonstrated by the eagerness of the numerous presidential wannabes racing to the left, proclaiming they can promise even more "free" stuff than the other candidates. Economics is completely absent from their skill set.

Behind every promise of ever more safety and security lurks diminishing liberty. Under "Democratic Socialism" individual freedom has to be curtailed to meet the goals of social justice, crushed by an ever more powerful government.

The reason socialists are so opposed to individual ownership of guns is the possibility of a real resistance to the force of an overbearing state. Freedom of speech tenets are also to be restricted to only state-approved speech, lest opposition be encouraged. I believe the reason most media outlets have become mouthpieces for the left is out of eagerness to survive in a socialist environment. The MSM read the tea leaves of the Sandernistas socialists, and it scared some, and inspired others of equally delusional thinking.

I hope that enough people ask themselves how realistic the Democrat vision is to deny them possession of the House and Senate this Fall. If not, America will grind to a halt, buried under fruitless impeachment investigations and presidential vetoes.

This fits incredibly well with their socialist agenda. What remains to be seen is how many Americans will buy it in the face of economic prosperity not seen for 10+ years. The biggest factor in politics has historically been the economy - and its tough to make a case to return to the Obama years.

Wasn't this Aunt Bea's slogan when she ran for city council against Howard Sprague?

Forgot to add, liver cleanse, Charlotte Gerson and coffee. Not to drink but as a high colonic. By her theory this relieves pressure on the liver and allows the liver a relief to cleanse.
