Representative Jose Serrano (D NY 16) calls for a caudillo!
However, 2/3 of each House and 3/4 of all States are needed for ratification.

I say send it to the States first and give people an idea of where to flee from and to.

And probably a few EMT's for the treatment of shock, followed by anger management classes...

Pounding of heads against walls, clanking of chains... A little of both depending on your mood! There's something for everyone at The Gulch!

Understood. But the for welfare recipient, giving up and getting well means (for them) to stop believing the gov't lies and become independent. IMO, both are huge steps for them to take; the beginning of unindoctrination...I can only imagine the anger they would have after fully understanding how much the gov't played them for fools. Sounds like you need to start the program, with lots of AS copies laying around the room.

Truth is most of those people standing at the lights with the signs are raking in lots of money.... it's easier to do that than work....and it's cash so it won't effect the food stamps or check when they get home..

Okay...I've been fighting saying something similar, "Maybe I'll hit him in the head with it and knock some sense in him while I'm at it..." but I thought that would sound "too mean". But HARD copies...oh...now THAT'S mean. Meany!

And bum cigarettes all night... and ask for a ride home....and steal the change out of your car's ashtray...and tell you a sob story about how his water got shut off and can you loan him a couple hundred...just until Friday when he'll "pay you right back".

I take it you've never been in AA...

Those of us who are in addiction recovery know very well that you cannot "give" someone else initiative.

The addict has to hit bottom.

Pretty much everyone in recovery can tell you exactly where s/he was and when that happened. And most of us are able to recognize when someone else has finally gotten to that point, the point at which the addict is finally ready to give up, and start getting well.

Please re-read my comment above in that light. Make sense now?

the 12-step is a great idea, but just like the old water trough and horse example...you may have the program but you can't force the person to go. How does one 'give' someone else initiative?

Wow. Obviously I didn't know that.. The argument over the power monsters is basically obsolete though, thanks to the manipulation of the voting machines and in areas where ID is NOT required. I'm sure you've read the fraud stories, like 108% of the vote in Allen West's county had voted...hmm I wonder if that's the 4,000 vote loss?
