Tie this to a report from the University of Arizona that cites that those reusable bags are a health hazard in and of themselves! (http://nypost.com/2014/07/31/the-city-co...)

I love how the green movement took over something that was originally purely economic.

Paper bags were replaced with the throwaways to save money, it had absolutely nothing to do with environmentalism. Now the greens are pushing the "reusable" bags.

The thing is they represent more materials per bag than a single person is likely to use of throwaways in a couple of years.

So between the leaky chicken juice, poorly sealed milk jug and the occasional broken egg, the population of Evanston will likely see a reduction of approximately 10 percent by the end of 2016 due to deaths related to food born pathogens. Brilliant! That's one hell of a way to save landfill space! It would also save a whole lot of energy and be just hygienically sane if they were to ban clothes washing as well.
