Guy: would you sleep with me for a million dollars?
Gal: Well, I guess I would
Guy: Would you sleep with me for five dollars?
Gal: What do you think I am?!
Guy: We already established that, now we’re haggling over price.

I was frothing at the mouth, like most of you...but had to pull back when I listened to Ann Coulter explain what this money is earmarked for.

Apparently, the dam exists...but is in danger of breaching, and flooding thousands of property owners downstream. Ann called it the next Katrina, waiting to happen. She claims that these landowners keep a constant watch on the police channels, for the alert to evacuate.

If she is right (and I have never been fooled by her), then this expenditure has merit.

But, it is unlucky to be a part of this particular compromise.

What do you expect from a bunch of hypocrites attacking those in their own party for doing what we sent them to do. Forget making a list of those who voted for the bill. Career politicians get old and die off. Make a list of those that didn’t support the bill and protect their seats first.

Don't worry, the next "crisis" will be in January when the current debt ceiling will be reached again. There's a reason why Chase already has a policy in place for prohibiting International wire transfers of cash. Perhaps they know something most don't? I'm ready.

Read the comments to the article. Flame war, in spades. Glad we have a forum which tends to polite discourse, in the main. There are lapses but nothing on the order of the vituperation there.
