The tendency for the American Jewish community, in large part, to hold with the liberals and progressives who support the enemies of Israel is fostered by the perception, not always wrongly, of Judaism being oppressed since before medieval times, reaching its apparent zenith during the Holocaust, re-engendered during the McCarthy era and the persecution of Hollywood. Their obsession with minority causes stems from their own perception of having risen from a minority persecuted status and working to be the catalyst of change for other minorities. (Definition of a catalyst: an agent which can change the properties of a substance without being changed itself.) However, being a catalyst in this instance is self delusional. The act of changing the matrix makes them a part of the change and dissolves them into the mixture so they are no longer separate and distinct. To support those who support their enemies makes them vulnerable to eradication. Is it a death wish on their part to seek eradication or persecution? I don't know. Maybe the cultural psyche needs the value of persecution to justify its apartness, even though they are tightly interwoven into the fabric of general society, a co-dependency if you will.
