    Funny, I don't remember a war with Iran ending in 2004. We had Desert Storm in 1990-1991, Iraqi Freedom not long after that and the Afghanistan campaign after that. Refresh my memory, when was the Iranian War?

    I meant Iran.
    When the invasion of Iraq began, I celebrated, loudly. I've seen a map, see. Afghanistan on one side, Iraq on the other. Conquer both, appoint American governor-generals to run them, use the two as staging grounds to crush Iran between, then swing west in a hammerblow to smash Syria. At which point we could ask the rest of the Moslem world if they were ready to play nice, and the rest of the civilized world if they were ready to help us or do without oil.
    Instead we wasted years and lives nation-building, making our soldiers servants to our enemies.
    But I digress.
