yes. to the 70s. He is a detective and it focuses on technology differences but also it is striking the standard of living between US and GB in the 70s
Thanks for posting this. I left the UK in 2003, and I had never heard of this series. I just watch the first 4 episodes on DVD and now I'm hooked!
I noticed you commented on the standard of living in the UK at that time. It might be the reason they chose Manchester as the setting. Worth noting that area epitomized the declining industrial base, which in the 70s was suffering from powerful unions and widespread industrial "action".
I m a big Roku fan ... especially since they have had Youtube back for a few months now. I wonder what the future holds for the platform though. I am concerned that they will be crushed by bigger players. I also think they made some poor technology choices which is hampering growth through better adoption in developer communities.
yes, the main character is a detective who has been thrown back to the 70s. The main interest would be how much technology has changed, but also attitudes (in the police dept). The changes of living conditions in GB is more stark than if you had made this in the US. So the 70s in GB look more like our 40s-50s or some cases worse. Historically interesting. and the music is great

So, Opportunity is alive on Mars, even as opportunity is dying in the U.S....
Ooh, more poetic justice... I didn't know that Opportunity was joined by Curiosity on Mars... too bad they're both in disfavor here in America...
Naturally NASA got it backwards; curiosity is followed by opportunity, not the other way around.
