Kalifornia Looks to Remove Decades Old Ban on Communists in Government Jobs

A shift in the direction of outright Communism would definitely be consistent with the national Democratic Party’s foray into Stalinism with all of the trappings of totalitarian Russia. There are now false accusations based on zero evidence, violent mobs shutting down opposing political views and and endless parade of show trials and tribunals. Could gulags be next?

Every decent American should fully support the secession of California which has become unmoored from both reality and traditional American values and has gone over to the dark side due to the loss of an election.

The communists are the most extreme, consistent leftists. They endorsed Democrats like Carter as the worst they could find within the limited election choice.

The CPUSA stopped putting up their own candidate for President after Nixon, and made a habit of endorsing the Democrat, which included Carter (for which they had to abjectly apologize after he withdrew U.S. teams from the 1980 Olympics), Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama (whom the gimmedats have declared as not liberal enough). Given that those U.S. presidents carried out aggressive military campaigns against foreign groups with which the gimmedats have expressed sympathy, I think the CPUSA would be declared a "right wing" organization by association.

I kinda thought our discussion is over due to Dobrien appearing to have taken care of business for me.
What I wrote about the lake was for Dobien's benefit.

After writing the above, I noticed you nitpicking Dobrein even high above. The only place I've noticed anyone going out of their way to lower case God is here on this board. I know I can use English loosely at times, but about certain things I as my own born free individual prefers to use the proper English I was taught in school, goddamn it. Goddamn it! Dino wrote goddammit! God is gonna get him fer writin' sech gol'dern thangs. Not the god Apollo.

What Communist would they call a "right wing fascist"? They misused the word "fascist" to refer to anyone not a Communist following the break up of the Hitler Stalin pact. Members of the Communist Party were full fledged communist ideologues and apologists for the Soviet government. Subsequently they were commonly too embarrassed to publicly support the USSR but would easily burst into supporting it as a moral ideal badly implemented.

Trying to promote an importance ascribed to religion by demanding capitalization of religious terminology is promoting religion with the same kind of obnoxious demands to define the "grammar" as the politically correct leftists trying to ban use of words like 'he' and 'she'.

In most of Atlas Shrugged the name "God" was used in common phrases like "God damn" that had nothing to do with religion, just emotional phrases with no particular meaning. In Galt's speech it was a religious name being rejected. The spelling had nothing to do with fear of offending readers.

You have good eyes. I should have wrote "lower case." My bad.
As for this photo of compass lake~
    https://www.google.com/search?q=compa...
--this is the beach of the Dothan Boat Club of which my fairly recently deceased dad was a member. Facing the lake, he had a cottage built two front doors to the left. As a kid I used to hunt fish in that cypress tree grove with a snorkel, a one-piece diving goggle, flippers and a spear gun. Farther to the right from what's photographed, an family of ospreys built a sizable bird's nest. Every once in a while you's see an osprey catch a sizable fish. I have four brothers. Two own that cottage. In accordance to the will, a bother in North Carolina, one in Delaware and I traded away our shares of that real estate for $16,000 something a piece. I only go there for family reunions that last about three days and we didn't even have one last summer.,

I looked again at that photo because something was not quite right. That boat is pulling skiers between cypress trees. That farthest tree on the left was cut down a long time ago. That black and white photo is definitely old. The tree may have been dynamited. Cypress stumps are fatter and harder to removed than the rest of the tree. I when I was a kid recall a one-armed dynamiter who with his teen-aged son I watched blow up specified trees to open up beaches in front of cottages. My dad was the first person to have a cottage built on that side of the main lake and it looked like the setting of a Tarzan movie way back when.

The point could be an editor or Ayn Rand capitalized the letter G.
BTW , reread "low case"contempt not low class. contempt.
I don't see any religious promotion here.

Actually, many of the old members of the CPUSA would be considered right wing fascists by the new breed of fanatic gimmedats, so this is a "so what" sort of news.

None of that is relevant to Ayn Rand. She had the integrity to insist on writing and publishing what she wanted to say and project in the plot and theme of the novel. It had nothing to do with 'low class contempt' or religious promotion or intimidation through spelling.

For Rand back in the 50s, big G for "Oh, my God!" was just proper spelling.
I'm certain she had no fear and could not be intimidated into anything.
Rand being an atheist, she evidently had too much old-fashioned class to go out of her way to show any low case contempt while writing dialog for her AS characters.
If I'm wrong, editors edit. An editor checked my work way back when I was a newspaper reporter.
It's a publisher who can be $$$ intimidated.
About three times in my life the subject of God came up and the other dude started to call God "she." The last time it was someone I really respected until I heard that stupid crap.
Anyway, there is a fair number of Christians who have landed in the Gulch. I know it due to getting a PM every now and then from this and that Gulcher, but there's one who emails me fairly frequently.
It's not Dobrien with whom I share "it's a small world" Compass Lake, Florida, connection. We've been developing a friendship, though.

There is no way to bring idiots to their senses. You can lead a horse to a book but you can't force him to read it and think. If enough people knew enough to up and leave it wouldn't be required -- because ideas drive the course of politics. The system already is collapsing, but not so abruptly because of what people are still able and willing to tolerate and produce in spite of the irrationality. (Where would California be without the Silicon Valley economy?)

As more do drop back or drop out, in addition to rational action becoming progressively more illegal, civilization will continue to decline, but no disaster by itself will tell or convince anyone of what is right without a better philosophy. Without that, as conditions worsen people simply become accustomed to and accepting of the new level of deprivations, just as they did in the original Dark Ages.

I don't disagree, I just don't see any way of bringing these idiots to their senses short of the self-imposed meltdown already in progress. If there were more people in California who were willing to just up and leave, the whole system would collapse in on itself in a matter of a decade.

Ideas cannot be eliminated by banning them. There is no longer a Communist Party representing the government of the Soviet Union. which no longer exists. The latest fascistic versions of collectivism do not depend on party membership and are not affected by party names either in California or Russia.

Capitalization means a proper name for something that uniquely exists. There are many interchangeable beliefs in gods. She had no fear of offending anyone, nor was she intimidated into pandering.

There are no states, including California, that are all 'red' or 'blue'. There is a large mixture of ideas in every state. In California and many others there are a minority of American citizens trying to hang on to the last of their rights as individuals. A state that cuts itself loose would destroy that even faster than they are now, so no one one should cheer for secession. Regardless, many will flee anyway -- often out of the pan into the fire, but with no normal temperatures left anywhere. The true Globlwarming.

    Where will it end? First California, then Oregon and Washington State are almost as Lib nutty as California, then there's the east coast contingent. New York City, Massachusetts, etc. I propose three countries. West Coast America, East Coast America, and Real America. Oh hell, just stop fighting within the Republicans clear up as many messes as you can and keep hold of the reins as long as you can do good. {Somebody wake me up, please.}

I agree. Let them secede and deal with their own problems. Let them go bankrupt and then offer to take them back on condition that they fire each and every Democrat in office, put their entire government on austerity measures, and eject their illegals. That won't happen, so we'll see a Mad Max kind of world take over down there with every sane person trying to flee the State.

why remove the ban since most of the government is communist to begin with.

Think you meant to write "deceit."
Amazing how she could tell where our society was sliding while typing all those many, many pages for the Atlas Shrugged manuscript published way back during 1957.
Rand wasn't at all shy of flying the beam when she'd in her near futuristic novel mentioned a People's Republic of France.

LOL! Oh, I've noticed that Ayn Rand novel capitalizes "God" the way I just did in Atlas Shrugged. All the time.
Why offend most of her readers? Smart.
