I don't know anyone personally, but My wife and I have rationalized enough emotional purchases of our own to see how easy it would be.

I'm very keen on a logical, rational approach to emotional education. I think it could be based purely on the joy of understanding vs. the pain of confusion. Perhaps, emotional defense against self/other taught at an early age could derail this Common Core crap.

Logic...teach logical thinking and decision making. To follow a train of thought to a conclusion. Compare it to emotional manipulation and what that leads to. Show it for what it is. Tell the truth. Emotions aren't bad...just basing decision making on them is. How many people do you know who have gone bankrupt because they buy and purchase things emotionally? (One example).
