Inventor Of Landline Service Trying To Shut It Down

The introduction of digital service allowed for the incremental billing for line usage (regulation) and the destruction of anonymity. I'm no longer sure if analog line service exists anywhere anymore.

Eliminating line service and forcing wireless service opens up many opportunities for an individual to be monitored and recorded, spoofed, and to be isolated from information.

I know the owner of the NOCs has every right to do what they wish with their property, but I can't help but feel that the already intense microscope is quietly amplifying, perhaps to the point of reading the makers stamp on your soul.

The break up of ATT in the Eighties into the 8 Bell operating co.s has had an interesting history.
Bell laboratory was a tech leader in its infancy.

I expect they would, however it will likely be entirely digital and localized with relay service going across wireless towers and/or satellite. None of that will be beyond their and other "peoples" ability to monitor, regulate, and shut down.

"AT&T said it will certify that “reliable replacement options” are available before retiring the old network."
