Here is an inspiring~"I learned to follow my own dreams"~child's tale from me dino's neck of the woods.
Here's further information about the article~
Hoover is the ritziest satellite city of Birmingham where I generally go to buy the good stuff albeit PC related products, Big & Tall clothes, guns, the best indoor shooting range, the best mall, the best book store, the best Chinese deli, etc
I get Yerllowhammer with four or five articles in my email every day.
The yellowhammer woodpecker is Alabama's state bird.
Yellowhammer is even mentioned in the Crimson Tide's infamous nyah we beat you taunt chant.
Even during the short time it was banned, the fans sang it anyway. I was in the stands the first time that happened.
Coaches of the opposing team (can't recall which 20 or so years ago) turned around and gawked up at us as if saying, "How dare you?"

Thanks. Been noticing my memory can be selectively negative while doing my income taxes, it a chore that I hate.
Rather pay a consumption tax rather than suffer this deliberately made hard to do bother.
Once I tried the Liberty Tax Service. They made a $1,000 mistake. I got the State of Alabama to cough it back up a year and a half later.

This is not what I was referring too LOL when Crawford attacks her. As he is about to eat her brain, she bites off his pineal gland, reverting him to his senses.

Good grief; They should have H.P. Lovecrafts's pineal gland as a specimen.

Sometimes I wonder that because I was born at 9:00 PM that the late evening has a special affinity for me. Probably not. It's just one of the best times of the day...er night.

There is something about the depth of night that allows the senses to tap into the depths of imagination and powers of description.

I like to write late at night, too. There is something about the mood and the creativity that is magical.

    I loved Ray Bradbury.
I'm also a sangria lover and I write at night.
Sleep well too for some reason. .
I can't play at that should I write longer.
And I'm thinking I really need too.

When I was a teenager, one of my favorite authors was Ray Bradbury. I read everything of his I could get my hands on. Including an essay on how he writes. How to get totally absorbed and let it go.

I tend towards the Ernest Hemingway approach and have a glass (bottle) of wine on hand to aid the inspirational process.

I get a kick out of my expert on a horse Babette character making fools of her "filthy boche" pursuers. At one point she rides behind a motorcyclist whose engine makes a lot of noise while he's looking for her.

2 or 3 hours a day is pretty good. I found a good stint like that would be exhausting. Drawing from the creative side can leave you drained. But happy.

You may have been the one who remarked that Dinant did not look like Flanders.
Babette rides her horse through lots of hilly country in Walloonia where the Walloons speak a different kinda accented French (kinda like Cajuns) do but claim not to be French but more related to Romans who once conquered the area. That's hard to believe since Walloonia runs up against the French border. North Belgium is Flemish.

I spend 2 or 3 of hours a day on mine. Need to spend more time on it. Like I would with a job.
    Today I'm spending time on taxes. ) - :

In semi-retirement I have too many hobbies. And then semi came to an end and I am full time on a new gold project. No complaints here.

But I started a novel 22 years ago. Last year during a slow period, I picked it up again and made major huge progress and it is 98% done. It would make a great movie (it subtley reprograms environmentalists back to reality). And now I have no time. Part of it is that it is a momentum thing. You can't just dabble at it.
