A most important first step toward draining the swamp just happened. The State Department has consistently acted in the best interest of everyone ... except those of Americans.
I think the media twisted this. The way it often works is that the appointed positions change out at a change of administration anyway. The Trump team gave notice a while ago (which probably isn't very unusual) and the media reported that Trump "asked them to resign". Then, Trump got sworn in and these leftist appointees had a little powwow in the office one day and left in a manner to make it look like they were resigning with gross prejudice. (sorry, is that a legal term - I'm winging it). It's just a political, grandstanding method of vacating a position we all knew would be vacated anyway.
You are absolutely correct! The normal and customary process is that political appointees (of which these all were I believe) was to request their resignations so that the new President could decide whom he might keep and who would be replaced. They tendered their resignations and he accepted them. Great move! Very smart....and, a great way of changing a failed policy!
The rumor is that nearly a third of all agencies' bureaucrats plan to leave. How much is enlightened self interest, since the President has floated the idea of a 20% reduction in the Federal workforce (except for the military, ICE and Border Patrol), how much is simply part of the flood of boomers retiring, and how much is really because they don't want to work with this President really doesn't matter.
This is a gift. As I've expressed on this forum before, even throwing out every elected official wouldn't get to the real problem, which is the unelected mandarins. If they're leaving the swamp before it gets drained, so much the better.
I've seen subsequent reports that they were actually fired. Specifically, it's customary for all high level bureaucrats and appointees to submit letters of resignation to an incoming administration. Trump just chose to accept them.
When the entire bureau is then I will be glad. Getting rid of a few is like taking your hand out of a bucket of water, noticeable for only a moment then it is the same.
My guess is that these are the one's that might be suitable for criminal investigations involving Hillary's email escapades! Plenty of culpability to go around for a good many of these "Senior" professional bureaucrats. Clean on!!
Trust me! A good many of these "Internationalists" have been there polluting our Foreign Policy for years! This is the perfect place to start draining the Swamp in addition to the Lobbyist hoard and the Establishments of both moribund parties!
Even better. From another source I now learn they resigned in protest to the confirmation of Donald J. Trump's new pick for SecState, Rex Tillerson. I was going to suggest he and his lawyers huddle and cook up a creative way to redefine these "senior managers" as political employees (which is how they have been acting all this time), not Hatch Act civil servants. This saves him the trouble, involving a key element in any Presidential administration.
Turns out they were all political hacks that served under both Obama and Bush. At least one of them also have some culpability in the Hillary Clinton personal server and Classified information fiasco. Probably colluded to cover up her misdeeds! This should be a lot of fun as we go through Department by Department. Talk about Draining the Swamp......This is pumping the septic tank as well. What fun!!!
Already the MSM have egg on their face. I now learn they didn't resign. Trump, or maybe Tillerson at his orders, said, "You're fired." And the Hatch Act couldn't protect them.
It is my understanding that the senior managers in the State Dpt. are political appointees, subject to Senate approval ("consent and advice") and that all are expected to submit their resignations to a new president. The new president then decides which resignations to accept and which not.
I have seen in the press the current resignations described as if they were anti-Trump protests. As so much of the stuff you can read in the press, It is not true.
Yes! Good riddance! That bureaucracy is one of the most harmful. It should be cleaned up much deeper than just at the top. One is entitled to hope that the new Secretary of State will accomplish that given some time.
Anyone that worked over, with, or under, Secretary John Kerry needs to be removed, period. The majority of American's have never read "Unfit For Command" which basically summarizes his demeanor. Clean the swamp, the whole swamp. I'm sure a lot of deeper cleaning will also be required. Somehow that stuff rubs off on people that get too close to it and then do nothing about it.
We'll be hearing about a lot more "resignations" of people not even being asked to resign. Many will go just to get out before they are investigated further and prosecuted for their actions and/or inactions. I just hope I live long enough to see the movie, "Trump, Make America Great Again".
This swamp was chock full of the worst of the worst...we might need to have the EPA supervise the draining. Many behavioral and cultural poisons that need to be disposed of safely.
That's right! The EPA darn near ruined the river along the old Silverton & Durango rail line during that goldmine fiasco. I heard that the color of the water was a brilliant pastel color not usually associated with a pristine mountain river! Drain the swamp! For what its worth!
Laughing...It was just a metaphor to demonstrate how bad these creatures are. The EPA sucks and I am sure they too do strange things behind closed doors.
A good start... thousands of statist bureaucratic tyrants to go.
Regards,
O.A.
It was only 6 people total, from 3 layers of management. Also fairly standard when administrations change.
If it were 600 or 6000 from State THAT would be news, and a good start.
Stay away.
Leave We The People alone.

Just for the record.
All the best to you.
