An IRS employee was suspended for 100 days for using his job at the agency’s help line to try to convince callers to vote for President Obama, a government watchdog agency announced Thursday.

The employee, whose name wasn’t mentioned in the announcement from the Office of Special Counsel, admitted to using his job for political purposes and agreed to the settlement that involved a 100-day suspension.

you have proven my point. in other words if we removed all of the corrupt people who are paid with tax dollars, i.e. employees of the government they would all be gone and that would be good.

So they basically have rigged the system so it is next to impossible to fire a Federal dependent. This system is broke.

I retired from a large federal agency where I worked in the labor relations field representing management. When someone committed an infraction serious enough to be discipline, the employee had appeal rights to the union, the EEOC complaint process, unemployment compensation, and in case of a veteran, MSPB rights. So, many times in cases in which the infraction was so serious as to warrant termination from employment, the agency had to fight the union and the employee's attorney in the various forums over a year before the person was actually permanently terminated. Union stewards would engage in egregious acts that would not be tolerated by any private industry, but they were protected by the National Labor Relations Board, because somehow those acts where twisted into "protected union activity" and the sole reason for the existence of the NLRB is to protect the unions. Otherwise, the NLRB couldn't justify their own existence. All politicians pander to federal union leadership who in turn support their reelection, mostly to a democratic party position. So no matter what political machine is in place, the system feeds itself in a self preservation cycle.

    ... your point is ???
I worked in government for awhile long after I began studying Objectivism and what I found was that Ayn underestimated the waste fraud and corruption inherent in the system.
It is designed to ferret out anyone who can think and reward the mindlessly obedient.

In the name of integrity in government, this kind of behavior should result in termination without benefits - no matter who they are campaigning for.

It’s going to take union-busting to fetter out the weasels in government.
