Looks like the EXOMARS 2016 Lander didn't make it.

It appears the lander jettisoned it's parachute too early, fired it's thrusters too briefly, and then 19 seconds later stopped transmitting. Sadly, It has probably crashed...

    A news flash I saw says the images show a black circle around the impact site. Interpreted to be Rocket fuel burn debris. Not a good sign at all.

    Update: Caltech's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has spotted the wreckage on the surface.
