Martin Armstrong Warns Civil Unrest Is Rising Everywhere

"The repeal of Glass Steagall was the final straw that broke the back of the world economy. That was the single worst act that could have ever been done and we are now paying the price in spades. The collapse from 2007 has wiped out even the liquidity of the markets. The second worst act was the creation of the euro when the real goal was the federalization of Europe from the outset. That undermined the entire European banking system and has led to a serious undermining of the entire global economy.

The solutions from politics will always be the same – grab more power. We are in a downward spiral of liberty and how far we go down this path to the future will be determined by the people and if they at least wise up and see this is not class warfare, it is the people against government. This is why I say career politicians are dangerous for they can be bought way too easily as Clinton was to open the flood gates for the bankers."

Obama has set things up nicely. More and more people expect the Government to take care of them by going after the rich. One more "crisis" should be all the excuse they need to push us into full blown socialism.

We're already in soft-socialism. Companies don't really make their own decisions - they must kowtow to regulators. You are not permitted to conduct business with whomever you choose - look at those desiring to purchase raw milk. You can no longer dispose of your garbage privately - you must recycle and if you don't you can be fined. You can't even use your property as you would like - you must have agreement from your neighbors in the form of zoning.

I doubt the government would try anything like Stalinesque Socialism. They'd probably try some variant of Neo-Keynisianism.

Isn't that where we are? I think the real question is what happens to the Constitution.

You mean what happened to the Constitution. It will be Stalinism. An emergency, financial, something, it "ll work slick like when the Boston bombing took place. Look how nice and docile the public accepted total imprisonment in their homes as police searched door to door. The government will manufacture home grown terrorism offering rewards for turning in neighbors you suspect are stockpiling firearms and ammunition. Then it will be stockpiling gold and silver. Then it will be fuel. There will be a national interest for all sorts of things. History is in the past but plays again and again. Encores in the future....

Financial, but will probably be masked as terrorist related to gain compliance. (Said the person who's reading The Creature from Jekyll Island).
And with all the armored vehicles that have been recently given to police departments me thinks it's going to happen sooner rather than later. BO has, what?, 28 months left to gain martial law somehow? That is not enough time to wake people up I'm afraid. :(

If Stalin had IRS, EPA, OSHA, FDA..., he would not have needed to concentrate so much power in the KGB. Stalin also did not have a couple of generations to train his slaves. The goal is total control of the slaves in the most efficient way possible. Why kill them if that is not necessary?

I said it on other forums. And maybe I said it here.

My fellow citizens (not I, for I voted against him both times) elected Mister Thompson as President. Or make that "Head of State." (Remember: Ayn Rand said she refused to dignify the villainous Mr. Thompson, Kip Chalmers, and the unnamed ancestor of Lee Hunsaker with the titles of "President" and "Member of Congress." Hence, generic titles like "Head of State" and "Legislature.")

    So we elected Mr. Thompson.

I'm still waiting for the unveiling of the real-life equivalent of the Thompson Harmonizer.

Some historians set the start of the decline of the Roman Empire at around the time of Julius Caesar and Augustus. The Roman and US constitutions have a number of likenesses and similar evolution from their beginning until they became essentially a political tool used, interpreted or ignored. The US constitution seems to be at the same “evolutionary” place that the Roman constitution was just before Julius Caesar installed himself as emperor. If this is true and we can use Rome as a template, maybe we can expect the US to drift into a long decline for the next 250 years until Washington D.C. is sacked.
The above scenario would probably fit into a picture of people sitting around in a futuristic fantasy world with embedded electronic devices. Inflation will get out of control while higher and higher taxes are required to fund ever expanding entitlements. The decline will be exacerbated by poverty, cultural decay, loss of borders and language degeneration.

This reminds me of a trend were seeing in our area of California, and may be happening elsewhere. We are seeing lots of petty vandalism by lower-class young people: keying nice cars, spilling paint all over the road at rush hour to watch communters screw up their cars (recently happened to me), and young people slamming thier bodies into roll-up garage doors (doing $1000 or more in damage). This is just mindless stuff that's really growing in popularity. I see it as a trend against those who own something nice, simply. It's probably a sign of things to come.

Abaco, it is probably time to move to The Abacos Islands. Life there hasn't changed for 300 years and regardless of what happens here it still will not have changed.

True. The only difference is that now people are driving cars. But, that's about it...

Hi wiggys.I lived aboard our 30" sailboat for 12 years, never got out of Puget Sound, but always wanted to go further afield--or would that be to sail off into the sunset. I still want to live aboard, but the rules and regs now in place have turned liveaboard life into wrack and ruin... and now the vandals are finding out about marinas... Offshore or take on the task of moving into some area in this country and filling it with Atlantians is the only set of alternatives I can see so far. Any other ideas?
