Either Harry has totally lost his grip on reality, or he really thinks that the US public is just stupid

For some reason HR forgets; Soros, Gates, Ergen, Buffett, Katzenberg, Lucas, and 159 others (as of 2010, likely quite a few more by now).

Whenever I hear Horrible Harry speak, I easily imagine that I'm hearing the voice of a dithering old woman with a short haircut and wearing a man's suit. Now popping into my head is the wrong (the right one dropped) criminally insane brain that Igor fetched for Dr. Frankenstein in that first Boris Karloff movie. Wonder why.

As we all know, every country has the government it deserves. Given the government that we do have, we are (cummulatively) stupid.

I have to respectfully disagree. Those of us that are paying attention do not get what we deserve. We are forced into this mess by those that are not paying attention. But I would agree, those not paying attention and those voting intentionally for this get what they deserve. :)

It is an axiom that the "masses" are less intelligent than the "better" members of a society. The US Constitution recognized this fact and restricted voting to those members of the society that were demonstrably productive. Once the voting was opened up to all, on an equal basis, it became simply a matter of time for the stupidy of the masses to take over the government (or for the governing few to pander to the masses; the result is the same). So, collectively, we lowered our standards, our expectations and dived into the abyss. Whether a realative few are intelligent is irrelevant, as the mass of the country is devolving.

And just so folks understand how the founders determined "productive" was that you were a landowner. That probably wouldn't work today, but some other form of limiting the vote to those with a stake in the success of the country is needed.

That's a bit of a skewed description. The Constitution, as written, did not specify or restrict who could or could not vote. Later, only white men holding property or otherwise paying taxes were eligible to vote (unclear to me where/when this transition happened), but the key was paying taxes. The producers enjoyed the benefits of voting; the moochers did not. In practice, those were mostly landowners, but that is because the society was agrarian. An amendment to allow ex-slaves to vote gave full citizenship to citizens, but again it was dependent on the person being a producer. Regarding women’s right to vote, which was denied at the time, one must keep it in context of the times – the overwhelming households were families that had a husband and a wife (amazing that this concept needs to be expounded on today); if a unity of opinion cannot be reached within a family so as to vote as one, then that family should not be qualified to vote in the first place.

Exactly! This is exactly why this administration is so wrong. In order for there to be true prosperity there must be failure. We now stack all failures on the backs of the successful. The weight is becoming to heavy.

This guy thinks he's voting when he opens his mouth. He says whatever he wants to believe because he thinks other will believe it too, and some do. Truth has nothing to do with anything he says, period. This practice of lies is more pronounced these days because this administration not only condones it, they practice it.

We should release to the press that Harry Reid has offered to have Nevada pick up the entire Federal Tax Bill for everyone else in the country because all the income they produce in Nevada has no cost basis. People just come there and hand them free money, all profit. That's not "fair" to the rest of the people, Nevada should take care of everyone else's taxes. Apparently lies work in this country and there are no repercussions for using them. It's obvious the people of Nevada only read headlines anyway.

Did you hear about that Police Officer that takes 80% of his wife's profits from her prostitution? I wonder just how much of her income is just profit?

The people that are stupid are the fools that keep voting people like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and others like them back into office all the time!

If you look into his race against Sharron Angle, not only did she completely blow it, but there is significant suspicion of vote-rigging. I know some friends that live down there and one guy even works on the voting machines. He said that things were awfully fishy...

Have been for awhile. I've stopped calling the outcome of voting the margin of victory, but rather the margin of fraud. Best guess at this point is that it is several percentage points in favor of the D's. Back in '60 it was merely hundreds of votes, now it's thousands in each state.

Wow! Dingy Harry just continues to amaze me with his resourcefulness in finding things to make statements which make no sense.
Is that not the classical symptoms of dementia? And other mental disorders as well?

Harry Reid lost his grip on reality a couple of terms back. I feel the same way about my Senator, Lindsey Graham, and wish I could get him to retire to the private sector; I've tried the last two elections and can't seem to get him out in the primary. While I feel this may be because his campaign funds several other challengers to dilute the protest vote, I can't stop hoping that something I do will help get some new blood in the Senate.

That's the real crime here. When a politician supports one or more straw candidates in order to dilute opposition. Unfortunately, he still got more than 50% of the overall total, so not even a run-off.
