GOP Senators Cave on 2nd Amendment

Say goodbye to the 2nd Amendment and it not being impinged. I have owned guns since I got out of the military, before I joined the military and then the military gave me some bada$$ guns to use for 21 years while I was in. The civilians guns killed a couple of deer and elk and a few hundred squirrels but no people. The guns the military gave me killed a couple of people but only under the rules of war. The thing is those weapons only did what I directed them to do, they never went out on their own and killed or did any damage unless I did while using the weapon. The weapons are not the problem, it is the people using them. Dumbocrats and Gophers obviously cannot read the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights that they are supposed to uphold and defend. I know, I recited the Oath of Office several times in my career.

OK, so the first article did not really talk above them caving but now there actually may be a vote and we need to see where it goes. I would call your Senator if you oppose it. Anyway the newest theme is in the following article.

Should be they were all up in the muzzle of the barrel of the pistol. Wrong place to site unless you were looking for a fast exist to Canada. most of them were or were made out to be swastika types anyway. True or not True they never figured out Nazi's along with Adolf and his group were left wing extremists the whole time.

National German SOCIALIST LABOR Party? The only thing further left were or are Communists of the International Socialist flavor versus the National Sociaist flavor..

I used to bite my pop tarts into shapes! Always eats the crumbly crust first because it can compromise an accurate nibble, and save the yummy part for last!

I gotta look up the compound removal. Our guys used to think going out there was a little iffy if you strayed too far.

Yep, did my stint in the Idaho desert. Both as a student and as an instructor. First time lived in Idaho Falls, second time in Pocatello. Bus rides were heck but the people were friendly and Idaho State was right across the street from where I lived in Poky. Loved the 6 years there but probably not going back again. P.S., the breeder reactor was EBR-1.

Why? Do I get a warm fuzzy safe feeling by NOT living on the USA side of the border?

Why do I sleep a solid eight every night without checking doors locks and window latches?

Life is so much more pleasant in Expatria.

It's the state shaped like a gun. ;) (We don't have a problem with kids chewing their pop-tarts to look like the state...) also see https://img0.etsystatic.com/016/0/641...

PS - the white supremacists lost their compound more than a decade ago... Pretty hilarious circumstances really. Served them right.

Wow. Not many people know about that. A few more things most don't know about:

INL (Idaho National Laboratories) - This is where the original and ongoing research into nuclear reactors takes place. Nearby Arco was first city powered by nuclear-generated energy. Refined designs for Breeder series of low-waste reactors.

Craters of the Moon - used to test NASA rovers.

Sun Valley - ski resort/retreat for the rich and famous

Boise - capital and home of Micron (RAM chips), HP (LaserJet printers), and Boise State University. Also known as the second Silicon Valley. Sports only State Capital building in nation heated by geothermal water. Also currently being invaded by people fleeing California.

Television invented by Idaho inventor Philo T. Farnesworth of eastern Idaho.

Ahhh. Home of Lake Pend Orielle, the cutthroat trout and a Navy test submarine I led the design of the propulsion system for. Very good.

I would also suggest that every bill to be considered must be read on the floor and in its entirety before any vote can be taken. They have that rule in our State with First, Second and Third Readings, after which there is a vote to Proceed. It really keeps things down to serious topics and bills which are on-topic.

Agreed. Every law should come with an automatic sunset provision - especially the ones that spend money!

I did another filibuster. In a semi historical mode. You may want to add to it the parts I glossed over. I'm no Senator Byrd and I do need my sleep.

More I think of it the more I think we need a Pireaus in charge after all the worst he did was nothing compared to the best of the civilian politicians and the best he did was win a war for them to turn into another failure.

The military under color of their oath of office might yet be the answer. It's legal, it's a counter revolution and there is no entity that can stop them. Just pray they do follow the oath completely. The odds are better than what we're currently being offered that's for sure.

Not really. It's on going since then but next to completely ignored. Lately it's picked up interest as the different actions that pertain to the attack on Constitution and Bill of rights and civil rights all come together.

Most would be confused having missed it entirely due to the news black out 'clear back in December? No it's been on going for at least two if not three Presidential in five administrations with increasing speed and impact.

Bush gave us a huge increase in police agencies at the federal level going from three to now something like 30.

Clinton gave us a decrease in personnel then under 100,000 cops on the street refilled the federal agencies for the most part.

Both started the idea of executive orders being more commonplace.

Both of them started the groundwork for the ethanol/food prices scam. Both started and laid the ground work the housing bubble and free housing for those not qualified for loans scam and the eventual attack on small banks and consolidation of power and money in the hands of a few. Not to mention an increase in debt and no Clinton did not balance the federal budget with a surplus he balanced the White House version and left a 1.4 trillion dollar increase in debt though that figure in history diminishes year by year.

Bush II was cursed or blessed with the attack on the Trade Towers. which laid the ground work for the Patriot Act and with that the DOHS now DHS or think of it as the Directorate of Internal State Security a full blown schutzstaffel or protective echelon. We've been at war non stop ever since. but at what price?

More executive orders, less civil rights and the part I mentioned in particular is the legacy of our loss in the war on terrorism...or a change in terrorists. When you have to give up all that made the country what it was two hundred years of advancing and improving just to appease a non stop attack one can hardly claim a victory.

Never mind the what's the demo word for it 'draconian' increase in debt and devaluation of the citizens buying power or dollar value. One can hardly claim a victory.

Meanwhile the power and of the federal government increases have you seen any sign of victory? If so why is TSA still operating no matter how badly. Maybe a filibuster tying all of that together is needed. Maybe a SMACK in the face and a WAKE UP is needed. When one can sleep through losing their most basic civil rights and say ho hum so what...

Maybe one should wonder if the military absenting itself from it's oath of office doesn't have a good reason. Such as America...you aren't worth it anymore.

Maybe you should just go back to sleep ....and call it a bad dream or a filibuster.

As it is your of little value and the military is right not worth the effort - unless it's to take over and force feed the Constitution back into life using education camps if that's what it takes.

    Or just take over.l

    You civilians have certainly failed.

I had assumed, by the subject of the story, that this something recent, like, since Orlando.

I'm wondering what this filibuster has to do with something that happened clear back in December?

Can you see why I appear confused?

People like this anti American Senator who openly violates his oath of office are they really doing that? I'd say they are way ahead of most and the stupid population is a 14 time zones short of a whole planet.

Dec 31st for the fifteenth millionth time . The Senate passed 85 to 15 (the house already having done so) the annual spending bill. Every one heaved a manufactured and rehearsed sigh of relief. Oh joy the government is not going to shut down. Remember that one?

Buried in the bill with the usual add on ear marks were some changes to the apprehension and investigation and subsequent procedures etc. for the Patrioit Acts operations manual.

Nothing further in the way of explanation or definition, nothing deleted, only one item added.

Now think about 'probable cause' one of those silly ass constitutional impediments.

Last years rule - apprehension requirement based on 'suspicion of terrorism' is allowed with no supporting documents such as warrants etc.

This years change added suspicion of terrorism and suspicion of support of terrorism.'

    No definitions no limitations

To keep it simple the entire civil rights section and most of the Bill of Rights was wiped out.

That includes the Second Amendment. The entire Senate knew about that ear mark. 85 voted for all the Democrats and all the Rinos.

    fifteen voted against.

100 percent of the new media and 99.999 percent of the Stupid R Us were too busy watching some ball drop for some unknown reason.
0001.% Obeyme and camerea crew filmed his signing that same evening.

Question was so why all this meaningless blather about something that doesn't exist anymore ANY time they want to invoke the undefined word 'terrorism?'

You didn't miss read between the lines. You ddn't open the book. This is the fifth or sixth time this information has been made available on this forum alone.

All that would happen with a waiting period or other restrictions is that the jihadists would get the guns farther in advance of need. It's what I would do..

The purpose of gun control is to disarm the citizens so they can't revolt against an unfair government. All the rest of the talk is just nonsense

You would be VEREY VERY WRONG!!! Here are some FACTS for you and your "assumption and opinion."

IN case you are skeptical of conceal carry in the 1700's Here are some historical facts. The Founders were well aware of small pocket guns.

George Washington’s favorite pistol was made in London in 1748
AWESOME paper on guns, militia, and the 2nd amendment. Well worth the read. To reiterate they had "pocket guns: back then, and they used them too, the only reason few people had them was because of the expense. All of the founders were wealthy and could afford and did own.
