Your Money, urinated away on these barbaric tribes so they get the best of the best but We The People, who grew this food, get the worst of the rest.

OMGG that's as bad as Natural Cheetos from that big natural foods store chain what's their name. I was offered some as a sample one day...Whole Foods. That one. and started laughing and asked this kid who was shilling the stuff have ever seen a Cheeto Bush? I don't think it lasted. Some things are just too funny to be counted as more than ridiculous. But then it was California.

Understandably that's what happens with the first and sometimes second generations of immigrants...they should of assimilated by now. we have a few Vietnamese restaurants here at the shore in CT...seems to be spread evenly...but most of the workers still speak their language, not English...that's the shame of it.

Because of my loss of brain cells, there is a city north of San Diego whose name I cannot recall. It has a huge Vietnamese population and a very large section that is entirely Vietnamese, including a full sized mall, shops, services etc. I don't think any outside union would get very far there. You can buy everything Vietnamese there from groceries to carry-out. We would go there every few weeks and go into the mall and be the only round-eyed persons there.

I'm surprised the left didn't jump on that...they don't even what the children of farmers to work on the farm...

PS...I spent 20 years, on and off, in printing...went from bottom to top, then consulted for a while also.

When I lived in San Diego, I had the good fortune to know and work with a number of Vietnamese. As I was in publishing those I worked with were in printing, and those I knew socially were in jewelery. All were industrious and hard-working and utilized family to an extent I had never experienced before. Example: We had a rush job requiring the printing, sorting and shipping of thousands of books. We were stumped as to how we could do it on time. The lady who owned the printing company said that it was no problem. The next day, 25 additional workers showed up and got the job done. I asked her if that wouldn't cut drastically into her profit. She only smiled and said one word. Waving her arm to encompass the crew she only said, "Family."

My chief suspects would be the social science empire builders who either a. were lying about the whole thing especially around budget building time or b. were failing to do their job but not to the extent of counting empty mouths. If you can come up with that many exact figures then you MUST know where the free food should be going. If they are aren't being fed then why are we paying you? Maybe time for social workers to join the food bank lines. They earned it they deserve it.

Another version is the overseas food deliveries that go to local criminal gangs and once having been off loaded and stolen can be found in any country on any day with a price tag or worse a new over stamped message saying something like 'donated by the people of the USSR covering up USA. Merchant ship crews have been reporting this sort of thing for decades and been hushed up by the State Department among others.

    Yes Dr Z.
There are a good number of Viets here, many of them boat people. I know only one who is on welfare. The big, and only problem I have with Viets in general is the spelling of names which is an outrage on English conventions, I could get lockjaw trying to pronounce some of them (same as with Poles and Czechs).
You expect the small businesses and cafes but around Perth it seems nearly all the small market gardens are Vietnamese, they used to be Italian.
All the identifiable migrant groups (except one) need negligible help, just give them a chance to get on with life, and they do. Now they are not just workers and small business owners but are merging into the professions and big business.

A country that can afford to feed the rest of the world, yet routinely is beaten up about starving children at home. A country that has food banks on almost every corner yet is charged with keeping them empty. A country with a the largest social service network in the world yet cannot locate nor keep track of, nor feed these thousands of starving children. A country that when asked with the expected 30% rise in the cost of food to support the ethanol program how will you handle the food banks, starving children, and foreign aid shipments and replied. "No problem will just shove another 700 million in that fund. A country that pinky promises food aid to our sworn enemies yet can pay to give one million, two hundred thousand tons to North Korea alone.

I't no wonder a paltry half million can be spent on such a demonstration project. How many starving kids would those funds feed? About half a million meals worth.

Where's the priorities or is the story of starving children even true?
