Do you agree with the assessment of this article? Does Johnson measure up to Objectivism?
Even if you agree with this article...is Johnson still better overall than all the other candidates?

No, I don't agree. The article is an anti-libertarian rant. The looter neocons are running scared and will lie any lie to hang on to power they haven't earned and do not deserve.
btw, libertarians do not claim to be objectivists, although many hold to some of the same ethical principles. Johnson's stand on open borders is in agreement with objectivism, although I do not agree with it myself. However, Johnson's position is a support of free markets unlike the statists.

I understand Johnson's point of view and I think the article is making a mountain out if a molehill in order to confuse people. Its typical GOP manipulation. I don't agree with Johnson's specific reasoning on this issue but compared to the insane intrusions we see from the demreps it's a lower priority issue that the GOP wants to use to distract attention from their disgusting policies, e.g., unending undeclared wars without reason.
My view is that the fedgov has no authority in this and anything the fedgov does will reduce market freedom. Johnson's position is not the correct one as stated, imo. If that is more important to someone than the fedgov killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people including US servicemen, then they have no ability to reason.

So would you think that even Johnson...with these negatives is still the better candidate than the rest of the field.

I understand priorities...we have to put things in perspective.

I have to laugh about all the reasons for Not building a wall...Nothing is impossible for America, if we want a fence, we could build a fence like the world has never imagined.
The key to this issue is that the rest of the world has not grown up yet and in many ways, have dissuaded a good percentage here in America to not bother to grow up, become respectful and responsible either;..until everyone gets on this page...we will need walls.
