Allen West talks about chance encounter with an eye-witness to Benghazi.

I can only hope that he publishes more details in the coming months.

I sometimes think that people are puzzled by the way the Obama regime handles the scandals. They see some clever cover-up attempts, or some clever put it off until everyone forgets it tactic. I think it's merely incompetence. Obama and most of his personally selected underlings are such stumblebums that folks think they couldn't possibly be that bad and then attribute it to strategy. The fact is that they are that bad. The most powerful man in the world is a gross incompetent who knows two things, 1) Fund Raising 2) Recreation. Anything beyond that and he is at a loss. Rather than attributing brilliance to him, it should be noted that he is closer to the protagonist in "Being There" than the brilliant guy he was touted to be. That may well be the reason no information about his education has ever been released. Him and his chosen advisors and Czars are just one degree above an idiocracy.

      Hello Herb7734,
Malfeasance or incompetence... neither one is acceptable. What is worse?
      Respectfully,

You're right. They're both bad. However, it p's me off that the guy and his crew are touted as brilliant, or even smart. I think a bunch of kids in a high school government class could do better. However, I will give them credit for a certain kind of obfuscation that is illustrated in the following, very old joke:
A radio personality was interviewing a very poor family who was about to lose their house to the TVA as the land was to be flooded to create a dam. As he was questioning the mom of the family, a dog walked in and defecated on the floor. Nobody paid attention. Finally, unable to just gloss it over, the interviewer ask what she was going to do to clean it up. Her reply was, "Clean it up? No sir, we just sweep it around until we lose it."

Nothing makes any sense with the way the government has handled this situation. If they came up with the video lie to save his election, he is an incompetent dumbass. So many better ways to save his election without digging a deeper hole. He was caught in the middle of town with his pants down, which is the only explanation for this extreme cover-up that the majority of America bought hook line and sinker (that is the really scary part). I read about this gun running thing for some time, people have been speaking about it since the beginning, the cover story isn’t believable. I don’t understand why someone wouldn’t come forward to expose these bastards for who they really are, anti-American.

I like Alan West. He makes one statement, however, with which I disagree. He says that the President "must" appear before the Select Committee. The Presidency is equal in power and authority to the Congress, and is not subject to Congressional oversight. The Cabinet Departments are, but the Presidency is not. Therefore, Congress cannot compel Presidential testimony. He can apply Executive Privilege to himself and to his staff who are not under any of the Departments.

Yes, but Obama *isn't* President, so he needs to appear before a judge and 12 peers to be tried for fraud and grand larceny....

The power the Congress has is called impeachment; if he doesn’t truthfully answer the questions the committee presents, I truly hope they use it.

The President does not have to appear. Yes, he can be impeached, but what good is that, as was clearly demonstrated in the Clinton impeachment. It just embarrasses him for a short time. Just look at the power and likability of former president Clinton now.

Clinton is not liked by everyone, he got away with perjury; I cannot honor any man that lies and doesn’t even show remorse for his actions. Hillary Clinton ether has no respect for herself or she simply looks at it as a means to an end for herself, I feel the later applies. Either way, she doesn’t have the character to be a good president, she has the character to destroy this country. No more Clinton’s in office…

He can be impeached by the House and then tried by the Senate, with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding. The Senate has the power to remove him from office if they find him guilty of "high crimes" or "misdemeanors." The Senate is controlled by Democrats who would not convict this President.

NOBODY would convict this President... because "this" isn't a President.

"This" is not eligible to hold the office, since the father of "this" was a British subject, rendering "this", while native born, *not* "natural born".

Therefore, "this" cannot hold the office, and we *have* no President to be impeached.

If the evidence of gun running was overwhelming, they would do it in a heartbeat to save their own bacon. Feeding on themselves…

Mitch, IMHO the evidence of gun running is beyond overwhelming. (I can't help but hear George Harrison's song, "Piggies", playing in the background)

I don't believe there is any way impeachment is going to happen. Boehner's gonads are the size of spanish peanuts.

However, if we can find a way to get obama to give up his dictatorship we just might have a chance of throwing him and his adherents in front of a military tribunal and charged them all with treason.

I think that some big company should stand up and offer to replace the pensions of anyone who speaks up on this matter and looses their government pension as a result. That should hamstring the attempt to blackmail into silence any witnesses.

Unbelievable. I’m not sure what I am more shocked about. Allen West making assertions without the facts to back it up or the possibility this is the real story and the press hasn’t fettered it out the facts for us yet.

He didn't post the facts to back it up. That doesn't mean that he doesn't have them. I am sure that the person who gave him the information does not want to have his identity known, or else he would have gone on national TV or radio already. The onslaught of government would be on this informant like it was on Hank Rangar in Pendulum of Justice.

I once rode a metro train from Pentagon City to DC with a woman who worked at the Pentagon. She was reading the paper. The front page story questioned the existence of WMD’s. Was that 2006?
She quietly ask me if I believed there were weapons. I said I didn’t know. She said that the Pentagon had already found the weapons but that they had been moved out of the country, and that was all she could say.”You could visibly see how fuming she was over the article, though she talked in very low-tones. She didn’t give specifics, but I trust she knew what she was talking about. This is actually the first time I have told this story..why? Because I didn’t have a smidgen of evidence of what she said was true. I always thought if that was the truth, that sooner or later the story would leak out. Still waiting...

Allen West is NOT an elected official representing any interest at this time. He’s just going to make a sticky situation more sticky by interjecting himself. What he should have done is put those who are responsible for handling this in touch with this guy and kept his mouth shut. Don’t get me wrong, I like Allen West, but he should know how to follow protocol, I’m thinking. I’m just being blunt about it. Sorry. I’m disappointed in West on this matter.

Unless, Mister Mysterious suddenly finds himself as a star witness in Trey Gowdy’s investigation, this just seems a premature release of probable evidence.

Mimi, my brother-in-law, now passed on, was a
Methodist minister to the troops in Iraq and
had to have double-lung-transplants to extend
his life after inhaling chemical WMDs being
eliminated, in Iraq. they had many chemical
weapons which were shipped to Syria, but
some remained -- and hurt him, badly. -- j

And I believe you. I also believe for whatever reason the intelligence community under Bush’s leadership thought it was in our country’s best interest to keep the true from us about what they knew. Under Bush’s leadership it was better to keep quiet then save face. Perhaps if Obama had understood the value of strategic sacrifices members of Seal team Six would still be alive.

Always campaigning for himself --that one.

          Hello Mimi,
I understand your skepticism. However, there is a real problem for whistle blowers today. The repercussions can be problematic. Check out this story from USA today. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/polit...
Going through proper channels doesn't always pay off.
On this particular story I hope proper channels do pay off. Time will tell. I agree, Mr. West should give the names to Mr. Gowdy.
          Respectfully,
          O.A.

As for WMD's, I had a similar situation to your Metro ride with someone I had previously employed after he graduated. After that, he went to a job that required a clearance that I am sure that he violated during his brief conversation with me.
