    That's why we have the concept of citizen's arrest.
    Will they charge him with DWI?

    Not sure that would happen today unless its a big one like murder. Law enforcement has become a fraternity where they give each other a pass on broken laws. Seems hard to find real Truth, Justice and the American way.

    That's right! Gomer did make a citizen's arrest against Barney, for making an illegal U-turn, after Barney had just cited Gomer for that very thing! And Andy backed Gomer up on it.

    Wow. A private citizen making a citizen's arrest against an officer of the peace. Still, the officer seems to have deserved it.

    Some people don't grant the premise of the police. Even when one does, the thought of a police officer getting drunk on duty ought to give anyone pause.
