Man, if this doesn't sink of my books. It hard to have written speculative fiction and see the basic plot unfold. Sure making projections is the name of the game in speculative fiction but those projections shouldn't be coming to fruition in the authors lifetime.

Give me meat, lots of meat, coal and oil for my cars.
    Don't fence me in.
I want jobs for the folks 'neath the starry skies above.
    Don't fence me in.
If you tread on my land and my sovereignty
You might find out about my liberty.
Put your report where the sun don't see.
    Don't fence me in.

    Come on....sing along.

To state the obvious, the US should get out of the UN and the UN should get out of the US.

Think of the potential of the UN building as a housing development for the homeless.
We needed to be out of the UN a long time ago. It does not have the best interest of the free countries of the world in mind. Just subjugation of the world to its agenda of power.
An island somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic, or Pacific, should be its new home.

Me thinks you got that right,Rev. My mind is wandering to some beautiful deserted islands I have seen. One could be turned into a UN zoo. All the cruise ships could circle it and look at the UN-animals through complimentary binocs.

    SOYBEANS!!!

I told ya! Ma Chalmers stands up in the UN General assembly, takes a bow, and says "See, we progressive Pullmonger Hyperpolitico-Moocher Liberals told you so. Now shut up, cede your lives to the leadership of Mr. Thompson and my son, Kip, and buy my soybeans, because that's all the UN will allow you to eat while you, you capitalist pigs of the Military Fatcat States of America, sustain the Downtrodden People's Republics of Everywhere-else-istan, and their glorious working-class proletariat who have less than you..."

My God, how this article has me roaring... ;-)

By all means, let's not invest in research on how to generate cleaner power from coal, the most abundant accessible energy source on earth.
Generation companies just bury their heads in the sand instead of trying new technology.

I am so tired of hearing, "It's too risky. Let somebody else do it first."
Who do these spineless managers of outdated technology have in mind? The Chinese? The oil industry?
    Dinosauric thinkers!

I can understand how one may not like these measures, rather on the bit "extreme" if you look at them out of context but...it´s been over forty years that the whole of the scientific community spoke out about a world energy crisis and global warming. Al Gore is just a tool used for mass coverage and attention, especially since he effectively was President for a few hours (psyche).

Alot of mishaps are writen across this article, since there are alot of alternative energies that are just as efficient (even more efficient) than fossil fuels. And while the real moochers are using brute force to sustain a business that has been diagramed and planned out till Kingdom Come, the real inventors and thinkers have been searching and finding alternatives that are real, not fiction.

For instance, electric cars worked, work and shall work if the manipulation of the law ceases to prohibit this option. "Water Battery" cars work as well, and are just as efficient as have proved BMW, Mercedez Benz and other automobile giants. The fact of the matter is that the US hasn´t been able to accept the simple truth, oil is out. Being one of the most profitable businesses their has been since piracy of the famous gold strike, fossil fuels have been considered by many to be the "black gold". But how much blood has been shed in monopolizing this resource? Honesty can be a bitch, huh?

Fact of the matter is Ivanpah and many other Solar Power Stations have proven to very efficient indeed, even more so than water damns. And, well, nuclear energy is still definitely the most efficient "green" energy source there is, though we must be honest about it´s risks as well.

So why does this "extreme" measure really only be a last minute wake up call? Because all nations have been beconning the USA to cease fire in every sense, both belically and energetically. Even in the name of Science the government and it´s puppeteers haven´t had one reflective moment of reason, rather just fear of change.

The United States of America still is a great nation, but it´s losing it´s greatness to greedy, conservative and idle heirs that share not the American Dream nor the principles of free market. They intend to cheat and steal all the raw on earth and sell it at their will, which is not liberal at all. It´s down right fascist.

    Amen

The end has been fast approaching for years, but the Fed has been in the business of keeping our attention bound elsewhere. We the People need to stand up for ourselves and sadly electing a new group into the flawed system will not work. Put a cap on the amount a campaign can raise overall, take money out of the political equation. Force people to run on their ideas and ideals, and not their connections.

If you listen to Farmer news. You would see that for next few years there will be less meat in the market because of our having the same number of beef as we did in 1951 on the range right now. And it will take 6 years to the bring the numbers up and that would take rain for that to happen.

If you ever need an example of the UN's true motives just look into the WHO's AIDS relief to Africa. How can you classify people to be dying of AIDS when HIV isn't part of the criteria you use to classify them? How many hundreds of million's have poured into the money pit only to disappear.
