If you have not read "Alongside Night" you owe yourself the opportunity. The book has drawn libertarians for over 30 years. Is Dr. Martin Vreeland Milton Friedman? Perhaps he was 30 years ago. David Friedman is now his father's age then and appears in the movie as the King of Sweden. (The Nobel Prize is the only thing between Dr. Vreeland and a concentration camp.) Schulman did not rest on his laurels. Following this, he wrote "The Rainbow Credenza" which I personally consider the superior of the two works. Nonetheless, "Alongside Night" was written as and survives as a prediction and a prescription.

The surprisingly large cast includes Tim Russ and Garrett Wang (Tuvok and Harry from Star Trek: Voyager), as well as Ron Paul as himself, and David D. Friedman as the King of Sweden. IMDB still lists this as unreleased. The first showing is in April in Lansing, Michigan.

Lansing television station WILX NBC 10 and Lansing radio station 1320 WILS get credits in the film for services they contributed to the production. LCS General Manager Pat Heller is an Executive Producer. Alongside Night author J. Neil Schulman wrote the screenplay, acted in the film, and served as director and pro- ducer. Schulman’s daughter, Soleil O’Neal-Schulman sings the haunting theme song, which you hear when you view the trailer."
