Believe it or not, this is a peer reviewed paper - meaning that other scientists checked the assertions and found them replicable.

Lying about the data is OK because it advances socialism, and everyone knows that socialism is the best system.

I hesitate to categorize this under science, as it is anti-science.

    Related opinion by Emeritus Professor of Chemical Thermodynamics, Dr. Leslie Woodcock, University of Manchester School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science

    " climate change’ is a meaningless term used as a sop by big business to create money.
    The theory of ‘man-made climate change’ is an unsubstantiated hypothesis "

    For those who worry about records being broken:
    " The reason records seem to be being frequently broken is simply because we only started keeping them about 100 years ago. There will always be some record broken somewhere when we have another natural fluctuation in weather."

      Great article.
      Highlights:
      “The term ‘climate change’ is meaningless. The Earth’s climate has been changing since time immemorial, that is since the Earth was formed 1,000 million years ago. The theory of ‘man-made climate change’ is an unsubstantiated hypothesis [about] our climate [which says it] has been adversely affected by the burning of fossil fuels in the last 100 years.

      “The theory is that the CO2 emitted by burning fossil fuel is the ‘greenhouse gas’ causes ‘global warming’ – in fact, water is a much more powerful greenhouse gas and there is is 20 times more of it in our atmosphere (around one per cent of the atmosphere) whereas CO2 is only 0.04 per cent.

      “There is no reproducible scientific evidence CO2 has significantly increased in the last 100 years.

      “Anecdotal evidence doesn’t mean anything in science, its not significant.

      “Events can happen with frequencies on all time scales in the physics of a chaotic system such as the weather. Any point on lowland can flood up to a certain level on all time scales from one month to millions of years and its completely unpredictable beyond around five days.

        First it is interesting that they are economists for Dept. of Agriculture, the one place the Agenda 21 folks want to start when exerting control, ie: farming with tractors is "not sustainable."
        Next, lie lie lie, to get control. Not one mention of true government controlled installations which do aim to change the weather: HAMP and HAARP. With over 20 government installations in various countries, why, if they are truly interested in climate change, is there never any mention of the above. Maybe because they are government, and it is people they wish to control, even if they have to lie.

    That's the thing with the left.. They see lying as just another tool and that the ends will justify the means. Back when I learned about the Firebombings of Dresden and Tokyo I quickly decided that when you are thinking you can do something because the ends will justify the means.. That means you are also willing to give up being one of the good guys. No one should ever think they will have their good deeds measured by how much evil they committed for a good cause.

      War itself is evil. One must balance the total evil against the individual evil. The US did not start either the war in Europe, nor in the Pacific, but once engaged (in both instances, I'm guessing you would say would be for moral reasons) the party should seek to end it as quickly as possible so as to impart the least harm/evil. There was a time when war was conducted by specific identified individuals - heck, even up to the US Civil War there were people who would go out and picnic and watch the battle. That time has long since passed. Today, war is all encompassing, and breaking the "will" of the opposing populace is just as much a part of the campaign as is a specific combat to combat engagement.

      Sorry, hijacked my own thread.

        War should be the last alternative to any political disagreement. However, once it becomes the only alternative, it should be pursued with all available power and might as that is the only sane way to end it quickly. Wars of slow attrition are idiocy.

          Yes, I agree. Once initiated, war should be pursued with all available might to end as soon as possible. That's not to say that war is moral, merely that once initiated, it is least immoral by concluding quickly.

        If the profit motive could be removed, I think that war would be much less likely.
        While I applaude profit motive in general as being a beneficial incentive for the advancement of humankind, there are some "enterprises" that I think are morally perverse, e.g., the banking "industry" profiting from encouraging war by lending to all parties to a conflict.

        During wartime decisions are made that are wrong. Wrong for the right reasons, perhaps, but nevertheless, wrong. The bombing of Dresden was one of them. Such things happen in any physical combat, but today, the numbers involved are usually so big that the consequences are most dreadful. However, while I don't believe in war, I do believe in self defense and all that it implies.

    According to Kevin Glass of Townhall.com, the paper claims that the urgency of climate change makes it OK to deceive the public about the projected consequences of global warming. They don’t actually use the word “lying,” but by calling for “informational manipulation and exaggeration,” they certainly think the ends justify these very questionable and over-heated means.”

    No argument, no rationale, no debate, no proof will change the attitude of the politicians and corrupt companies involved in what is now called climate change. It is their cash cow, their control mechanism to more cash and more control. Ditto for the masses who piled on the climate bandwagon. They are zealots. This is their religion. Their gods are gore and his ilk. Just as you cannot convince an islamic jihadist that he should not kill people in the name of allah, you cannot convince climate asses that there is not anthropologically caused climate change. The part I continually have a hard time understanding is why anyone would insist on pushing their beliefs on anyone else "for their own good" or otherwise.

    All other forms of ethics are dead with the Socialists in Democratic clothing in my party.
    Why shouldn't they kill off scientific ethics as well?

    Thanks for the story.
    Keep speaking up.

    UN Climate Chief, Christiana Figueres
    Ms. Figueres has made important contributions to the analytic literature on the design of the climate regime, is one of the most widely published authors on the topic, and a frequent public speaker. She has a Masters Degree in Anthropology from the London School of Economics, and a certificate in Organizational Development from Georgetown University. She speaks Spanish, English and German.
    UN Climate Chief Christiana Figueres laments U.S. democracy is ‘very detrimental’ in war on global warming — Lauds one-party ruled China for ‘doing it right’ on climate change
    Former Harvard Physicist Dr. Lubos Motl of Czech Republic Comments on UN’s Christiana Figueres: ‘The totalitarian system rocks while democracy sucks!’ - Motl: 'The actual goal of the climatism is to liquidate democracy, freedom, and prosperity in the world.' - 'Figueres' totalitarian advertisements are indefensible by the struggle to reduce the CO2 emissions because China's CO2 emissions were actually growing significantly more quickly than America's emissions in recent years – and China overtook the U.S. as the world's #1 producer of CO2 six years ago or so' - 'The goal of these "people" is to stop democracy, freedom, and prosperity regardless of the fate of Nature, the temperatures, or the CO2 concentrations.'

    Nice find. Just adds to the huge mound of evidence that there can be no "trusted" source of information today. It is too easy to manipulate, which is exactly why we are where we are. So much has been lost by giving the unquestioning trust to the "gov't spokesman". The ability to critically think and question has been bred out of our people by the system, so that when you produce tripe like this, people will quickly seize on it, and use it to justify their power grabs. Remember the famous "We had to destroy the village to save it?" As far as war, I agree that the total nature of war which used to be solely to control resources), now involves control of resources through control of people. This is how they provide the moral justification for all the do. How many times has the country done things that are patently unethical with the justification "National Security?"

    This is far from the only State Science Institute. The entire government lab system falls under this category. I worked at Argonne National Laboratory before I read AS. While they (and I) were doing good science, it just seemed kind of hollow. Then I took a job at Westinghouse Savannah River Company to consolidate our nation's stockpile of tritium. I helped do that. As soon as I heard that the government was going to nationalize that lab, I got out of there and took my current position at Florida Tech. To whomever compared me to the Wet Nurse on the producer side of the site, it is a valid comparison prior to 1998.

    The geologic record for the past 550 million yrs shows no correlation between temps and atm.CO-2. At various times the CO-2 has exceeded 4000-5000 ppm (today's is 400 ppm) and was the Earth On Fire and Burned to a Cinder? No -- we had Ice Ages or glaciations! Ice core records show that the temp rises and then, some 800 yrs later the CO-2 in atmosphere rises. Followers cause leading events? CO-2's heating ability, as a minor GHG, is not linear, but logarithmic. The first 100 or so ppm causes nearly all its heating ability, the rest is negligible. Does CO-2 cause atmospheric heating -- yes -- but only a miniscule amount! It's the strength of the sun's magnetic field (which fluctuates widely) which governs Earth's heating and cooling. Cosmic Ray flux correlates well with Earth temps during the past 550 m.y. -- a retired geologist.

    Per EPA as a more immediate culprit, see also Breitbart, among countless other examples, planning to regulate methane emission from cows etc, etc.
    EPA Proposal Seeks Huge Power Grab over Farmlands. ( excerpt) Republican lawmakers joined farmers and land developers to discourage the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from asserting a proposed rule which will increase its regulatory authority over the nation's streams and wetlands.

    "It's the most breathtaking power grab I've seen in a long time,” said Sen. Pat Toomey, (R-PA). In a letter from Toomey and signed by 14 other GOP Senators, they declared that the proposed rule hurts economic activity and oversteps legal bounds. At issue is the federal Clean Water Act, which grants the EPA authority to regulate "U.S. waters."

    Folks, in case you missed it, the govt also arrogates /think they "own" the rain falling on your property. State Science Institute indeed!

    Thanks for finding that. What I find amazing is the AGW prophets turn around and complain about creationist. Its okay to ignore evidence and logic if you have the correct political views, but you are ignorant if you hold the wrong political points of view.

    Another candidate is the EPA ( Environmentally Pathetic/ Political Agency) Flash back to 3/20/2014- Lamestream talking heads mighta "missed" this one for some reason... Daily Caller cited here:
    A report by Senate Republicans contends that the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulatory “playbook” was written by known agency fraudster John Beale, who put into place major air quality regulations that set the stage for “the exponential growth of the agency’s power over the American economy.”

    According to Republican senators, Beale used “Machiavellian” tactics to change the role of the EPA from protecting the environment to pushing an ideological political agenda aimed at expanding agency control over the economy.

    “This report will reveal that within the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), some officials making critically important policy decisions were not remotely qualified, anything but neutral, and in at least one case — EPA decision making was delegated to a now convicted felon and con artist, John Beale,” wrote Republicans on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

    Beale was sentenced last year to 32 months in prison for stealing nearly $900,000 from taxpayers after years of posing as a CIA operative and abusing his privileges as an EPA senior staff member. The incident has raised questions about the ability of the EPA to stop fraud, as well as the qualifications of agency employees.

    Senate Republicans argue that the Beale incident casts doubt on the qualifications of EPA employees: The convicted fraudster rose to a prominent position within the agency after he was hired by a friend — and even though he admitted to having “no legislative or environmental policy experience.”

    Beale was hired in 1988 by Robert Brenner, the former deputy director of the Office of Policy Analysis, and Review within the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation. Brenner was also a close friend with Beale and gave him the lead role of crafting major air-quality regulations in 1995, including the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for Ozone and Particulate Matter.

    “Delegating the NAAQS to Beale was the result of Brenner’s facilitating the confidence of EPA elites, making Beale the gatekeeper for critical information throughout the process,” according to the Senate report. “Beale accomplished this coup based on his charisma and steadfast application of the belief that the ends justify the means.”

    “Together, Brenner and Beale implemented a plan, which this report refers to as ‘EPA’s Playbook,’” the senators continued. “The Playbook includes several tools first employed in the 1997 process, including sue-and-settle arrangements with a friendly outside group, manipulation of science, incomplete cost-benefit analysis reviews, heavy-handed management of interagency review processes, and capitalizing on information asymmetry, reinforced by resistance to transparency. Ultimately, the guiding principal behind the Playbook is the Machiavellian principal that the ends will justify the means.”
    ~~~~
    “Beale masterminded a whole new way for EPA to — as he said — ‘modify the DNA of the capitalist system‘ and ram regulations through the normal checks and balances to achieve an end, regardless of their costs to Americans or the rule of law,” said Tom Pyle, president of the Institute for Energy Research.
    _ End note: do you think for a minute this revelation will bring any changes to regulations whatsoever- at least until future elected officials clean house? Of course not, if ever...
    Are we absolutely sure this isn't satire? I know that to the liberal/progressive/statist/socialist democrats the end justifies the means, but obvious manipulation of scientific data seems so 60s. Shouldn't they be on the cutting edge of obfuscation? I mean they've had so much practice!
      Regular study of the news is an exercise in observing the ironic, per the above example..
      "The uncontested absurdities of today are the accepted slogans of tomorrow. They come to be accepted by degrees, by precedent, by implication, by erosion, by default, by dint of constant pressure on one side and constant retreat on the other - until the day when they are suddenly declared to be the country's official ideology". ~ Ayn Rand-ATLAS SHRUGGED
