With apologies to those who might be offended by the lack of an Objectivist theme to this thread, I am excited to announce that Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg are working toward a new Indiana Jones movie for 2019. I promote this here out of the same type of admiration that Dagny and others had for Richard Halley's concertos.

I can see it now: Indiana Jones and the Lost Constitution. Jones discovers the Founders' writings and how the country has been disregarding their instructions from the New Deal onward. But this time he winds up entombed in that giant top-secret warehouse along with his discoveries.

My students call me Dr. Jones. Wear the beat up leather jacket, got the hat, gave away the whip couple of years ago. Teach economics and government, but during the summer teach paleontology as a hobby. Retiring this year, might need to see what an old retired adventurer can do!

It seems I recall Harrison saying after making the 2008 movie, that he was getting too old for this. Perhaps he was referring to doing some strenuous stunt work that will now be done by computer. Still, will the story be set with him as an old(er) man?

Check, Cash, or Money-Order. Obviously following the coat-tails of the successful Star Wars reboot. I don't blame them for making it. I blame the consumer for purchasing tickets. I must admit, however, I am curious enough to watch it on Netflix.

Won't Harrison Ford be in his late 70s by then? What will the Title be? "Indiana Jones and the Grim Reaper?" "Indiana Jones meets Dr. Kervorkian?"

By the way, John Williams' Indiana Jones music is superb. Exciting and innovative, and that syncopated section....wow!

I didn't care for his last one (or the Temple of Doom, for that matter). Not sure why they want to try another one.
Maybe try Indiana Jones and the Hidden WMDs (in Iraq)?

Don't worry, the target audience requires writing the new character to be the part-hispanic, part-asian granddaughter of Indy.

Indiana Jones is a heroic protagonist who portrays competence and optimism. Who says this is not an Objectivist theme?

    Go for it, Harrison!

That's amazing! She was so realistic, and it was done so well. I would definitely watch a virtual Indy/Han if he looked like that.

"I wonder how he'll handle another Indiana Jones?"
    Very carefully.
Harrison should contract with SFX Ninja Theory to create a digital version of Indy/Han so he only has to do the acting from the safety of the soundstage set
Here's an example of the current technology:

Your grandchildren could be watching a new Indy (or Han) adventure in 2035.

Does everything need to be objectivist in here? Not really. The Gulch is a place to share news and fun stuff, and this qualifies as both.
I'm really excited for it, Harrison Ford is one of my favorite actors. I was extremely disappointed when they killed his character in the most recent Star Wars movie, but that was because he was getting exhausted by the demands of the job. I wonder how he'll handle another Indiana Jones?

If anyone recalls the Young Indiana Jones series, IJ also appears as a child then a young man. He also appears as an senior citizen. Which makes the trivia question as to how many actors have portrayed Indiana Jones. The answer is 3 on TV and 2 on film for a total of 5.
