If you ever played space sims, this is really interesting. Not just because Chris Roberts made some of the top games of the 90's (Wing Commander series, Prophecy, Privateer) but they are taking the technology to the limits. They also are doing this entirely funded by the gamers themselves. Over 40 million raised by donations and pledges, and of course, buying into the game. I am impressed by the results, the visuals and universe being built are outstanding, and they can deliver what the gamers want because they are responsible to them, as investors. They don't need to take short cuts to please a company, everyone in it is working on the game. I stumbled on it just looking at a gamer video on youtube, now I am in it for 100.00.
