I have said it before and I will say it again. Once you have given up absolutes, it is all downhill from there. Mr. Gowdy deals in absolutes of rule of law; those he is interrogating do not. Are we created or are we here by accident? If by accident, then you have no right to complain about anything.

Gowdy gets nothing done but he looks good doing it. Those who just love to see him in action are thrilled by just that, him in action, which results in absolutely nothing of substance.

I speak, read, and converse in Demotic (Modern) Greek as well as both American and London English (ie I can understand the accent of even East London - no small trick). I can bludgeon my way through ancient Greek, but only with my dictionary handy. My wife is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, French, and Russian (linguistics major). Several of my children know basic Spanish. My father is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and conducts business there from time to time.

We have the checks and balances in place, what we also have, are the established national media groups willingly acting in a treasonous manner. Advertising is the lifeblood of the media. Choke it off.

Didn't know you spoke Demotic Greek (I do). And how did you get the extended characters to show up?

Agreed. We can hope that public pressure forces Lynch to act, but my bet is that Obama will protect her and push off any action until he's out of office.

That is correct. However, by asking the Attorney General to prsecute and then getting turned down and making a fuss over it publicly, is almost as good as a guilty verdict. Also, the FBI is investigating and they have the power to indict, so we'll see what comes of that. I live in hopes. But I won't bet any money on it.

Because Contempt is subject to the Sergeant-At-Arms of the House - kind of their own private but very temporary enforcement. For an actual criminal prosecution, however, it requires action by the Attorney General's Office.

Then why is contempt of congress such a scary thought to most people? In researching it the procedure is so limited that it is useful only against citizens and not useful against employees of the the other two branches and is an implied right not a stated right.

Freedom of Travel is not a Constitutional right it's not mentioned at all which means it's a power not granted to the government. None of their business. However if the citizens of a State granted that right for their state it would be it would be a State Issue within that state. If they did not then it's a 9th amendment issue under powers not granted. That's provided you don't run into Obama's Gestapo. Flying state to state is interstate commerce....

Looks as if it's another case as as his illegal appointments claiming congress was not in session.

the rule is plain and simple . If the power is not specifically granted it doesn't exist. Obama just as plainly and even more simply has become like that air head Trey Gowdy was questioning don't care about the rule of law. It's not in their range of comprehension. She made not attempt to defend her position neither understanding nor caring why it was being questioned. Looked to me as if she just blanked the whole thing out as not worth bothering about and come to think of it didn't consider it contempt.

Where do they get these low life dumb asses? Easy answer. Any university is filled with them..

You forget that he is a member of the Legislative Branch rather than the Executive. The Legislative has no powers of enforcement except Impeachment, and Impeachment doesn't apply to peons. In order to get someone fired or prosecuted, the Legislative Branch must ask the Executive Branch to act - something they simply refuse to do.

If we had a few dozen more like him, our republic might actually function properly. I'd love to see him as Attorney General for eight years tasked with cleaning house and restoring the rule of law.

Is flying on an airplane a constitutional right? I hate it when politicians ask a question when they already know the answer. All I can say is, it is the times we live in. None of this would have happened before 9/11.

We often describe someone as a "dis, dose and dem" type guy. Especially if you're from New Yawk.

I heard this recently. I have come to the conclusion that our government is NOT at war with terrorism. The borders have remained wide open. Look at this example of a complete disconnect from the issue. No...this is just another way to gain more power over the livestock and nothing more.

Yes, they look like idiots, they act like idiots, but, judging by the results, they are not nearly as stupid as we are, for it is us that swallow their stupidity and continue to re-elect the bastards and pay the parasites to feed off us.
