Whenever I got to my doctor and they ask for a "copay" I always say, "Wait. Obamacare just passed. This is all free now, right?" They seem to really enjoy that.
When they say "freedom" they mean "from want."
We mean "freedom from coercion."
It's only gotten worse since.
said in a letter that 'in Poland people thought
freedom meant getting things for free". It pained me
to have to reply to him that it's the same in
America.
Like the poster, btw. I'm sure we could add a plethora of talking heads to it that all demonstrate various aspects of the culture of "not thinking".
And no, most of them do not think.
Maybe they can imagine a remote island populated by a small number individuals, all with free health care. A happy utopia where no one ever again has to pay or barter for the health care they want, and no one ever again has to be compelled provide all these services to others.
I can't. Unless everyone is dead.
