I was just thinking of the ISIS kind of influence ... they start
with the whole head, but we could offer them a kinder,
gentler form of persuasion that We Have Their Guys. -- j

I vehemently disagree, Samantha. . it's not about legal or normal,
but instead about war. . if it weren't for possible intelligence value,
they should have died in battle -- it's their desire, after all.
Guantanamo is a barnacle on the hull of history which
slows things down -- a limbo into which combatants fall
after their intel value approaches zero. . as an alternative to
"rendition" which many people consider immoral, we
desperately need Gitmo. . and as a retired USAF lieutenant
colonel, I would suggest that we evaluate the possibility of
contacting ISIS with -- first -- toe and fingernail cuttings from
the prisoners, then hair and beard cuttings, and then....... -- j

Why not? ISIS is going to need experienced trooops before the USA invasion starts. They either were or they weren't but it reminds me of that snake collector in Florida. They ever find that cobra? Exactly. Let's dump the whole collection...where?

They all should be released. There is nothing particularly legal or normal about Gitmo.
