How do you resist?

As a naturalized citizen the love of freedom is not only etched but burned within my being. I fell in love with the United States of America and all it stood for: putting a man on the Moon, FREEDOM, Opportunity. However, it seems that these days that country has been overtaken by the Socialists, Marxists and Communists it once fought and guarded against. The thought police with its Political Correctness, the looters with its wealth redistribution and the legislative actions it has taken in recent years has turned this into a Nation I no longer recognize. I stand in opposition whenever and however I can from not hiring people to being 'On Strike' ! But truthfully, I think I've lost all hope for the country called the United States that once was. Wondering, how do YOU resist? What can be done? CAN anything be done?

Survive to attempt to rebuilt after it crashes. Move what you can when you can out of the US for if, not when, it goes to much more of a Police State than it is now. There is no way I see to change it in the ballot box. 99.99% of the superstate in not subject to a vote or to those that subject to one. In the age of near total surveillance I don't see a means to successfully stage any sort of open revolution here.

If they're coming through my door (for any reason)..it's time, and it is right. I will meet force with force. You go ahead and hold your powder...then you can throw handfuls of it at them later because you will no longer have a gun to load it into. (What do you have... a muzzleloader? Throwing the balls might be more effective.)

I'm not saying that compliance is required. Merely to "hold one's powder" until the time is right. Shooting too early is ineffective.

I will not comply. I have no delusions about surviving either. If things come to that...I will fight. From my cold (or warm) dead hands. Complying is being complicit with evil.... no two ways about it. And do you think gun owners are not paying attention?

Someone has to take the first step. Better to be bold and stand upright where all can see than hide in the corner and wait for someone else to start making a difference.

They will come much earlier to confiscate than the populace will have support to resist. Thus, by resisting early, you will only serve to be vilified.

They can be used when necessary. If confiscated, they cannot be used.

    Really, are you this dense?

Well, I believe that private property ownership gives the owner absolute rights to decide what happens on their property. Personal rights apply to a person on their own property or on communal/public property. What happens on private property is up to the owner of that property.

My dear friend, I´m an argentine living in argentina. Sadly, I know well that marxism is the most sublime concept of government, meaning that it´s impossible...it´s utopia. Why? Because we´re individuals, not sheep. And none needs a shepard. I too fell in love with the states, having lived there from 1986 to 1990, later on returning in 1994 untill 1996. Born in 1978, I´m part "American" due to this fact. And yes, having lived in Winnetka IL, and McLean and Langley VA I can stress many things off first hand. The US is a well planned system, and the only thing that keeps the States United is democracy, even if today it´s only an illusion...or dellusion.

Back to Socialism, the speech is great. Very convincing for it goes right for the arteries, it´s very "heart felt". But who are we kidding? We´re men, not saints. Rules are made to be broken, and the more rules there are, the more corruption there is. A powerfull State, metaphysically speaking, is one that has small need or use. A very "oriental" statement, a weak state is always "up in your face", down your pants and in your checks...as deductions. Why does Socialism only work in Syberia, Finland and Sweden? Because, like wolves we are us humans, and when in extreme situations the pack must group up to protect itself from death. The extreme climates in these places call for extreme measures, but even they know that Smith was right, that capitalism is more our nature than any other as a society. It hurts to admit that Social Darwinism is very accurate. It is. That´s why Ayn Rand is so great, that´s why we´re here honoring her work.

I live under a two regimes right now, clashing constantly. One is dawning, dressed in todays trendy socialist mumble jumble. The other is old, and it´s hidden behind the experience that laissez faire is the ideal and that this new speech is like a drug, for it´s more real than religion but, ultimately, it aspires for the same things. Control, Power and yup, ironically, capitalism. But only for the few, selected "friends" that aspire to monarchic goals through the bribing and distortion of democracy, freedom and all these utopias as well.

The Kirchners, if you don´t know them, are like bankers. They "legally" became very wealthy through mortgages as the banks legal representatives and, in politics, are making "legal" fortunes for themselves with the stories of capitalism and all that. They defend Maduro in Venezuela not for philosophy or anything else, but because of the raw oil, the friendship and the same selfish "capitalism" that Chavez excercised...

The whole concept of a State is abstract, and it´s need should only be for your private benefit, to each his own. It´s hard to measure merit, even money is a defiant system. But hey, we as humans shall never be perfect...that´s just the way it goes. Live, learn and profit. If we all stuck to our own selfish requires, completely and directly, we´d realize that if my neighbor is well off, all the better well off I´ll be as well. Classism is an awfull truth...

Starting conversations to speak out is a wonderful idea. But you can also help by supporting groups that actually speak out for you in D.C. I support the Heritage Foundation and the Cato Institute with whatever I can afford.

I agree property rights are very important, but how is it they rank higher than the 2nd amendment as it relates to the right to self defense? I think there is a reason the 2A is second only to the 1A.

I like when Stefan Molyneoux said, "Wake up. To see the farm is to leave it." I think those are powerful words. My approach has been to "round the wagons", so to speak, regarding my family and my professional efforts. I work hard, make money, avoid debt all while evaluating other places to immigrate to once this place no longer meets my needs. I don't plan to stand and fight...just watch it crumble from a safe distance. My only regret is that I didn't start getting ready earlier.

No gun zones on private property, as foolish and non-sensical as they are, should be permitted. The owner gets to decide what they will/will not allow.
Public property, on the other hand, should have no restriction.
