My wife expressed interest today in reading The Fountainhead. But the title has apparently been removed from Amazon's Kindle library. anyone know what's going on?

Where? If you can get this message it would indicate a way possibly. Using the loan system but you need a regular amazon account along with normal email facilities.

As I keep mentioning in this thread - there is a region-specific prohibition on the Kindle version for people in my part of the world.

    Given that the seller is:

Sold by: Penguin Group (USA) LLC

It might very well be a "who has rights in what country" thing.

You may want to try to find another e-book store and see if you can get it in a format that her Kindle can use. It may also require either a computer to kindle connection or sending it to her Kindle's e-mail address. I do this a lot for books, that seem to go "out of print" that I want on my 3rd Gen Kindle.

I'm showing a bundle deal at that link given by khalling. Have you tried that? It shows as a Kindle deal.

What's interesting too is that when I browse to that page while not logged in, it shows the 1-click button. But when I click that button and log in, it then switches to showing the "unavailable" message.

If I were a bit more conspiracy-minded, I would be wondering if the PC brigade have had it censored here due to the rough-sex scenes and the overall advocacy of self-determination, which goes against the Official Socialist Party Line.

I suspect there might be a local publisher who got hold of extended publishing rights, and is refusing to license it for e-book distribution.

Very disappointing, since my wife expressed a strong interest in reading it, and she loves her Kindle. Guess I'll have to go to the second hand bookstore and hunt down a dead-tree version.
